CCP Delegate Zero gave the community a holiday gift--New Eden Chronicles: Inheritance
That's the impression I got from the latest New Eden Chronicle. The Talocan(s) created the Eve Gate to lead explorers into an infinitesimally small microverse located in a 'car' battery. Talocan feed on the energy somehow. The jove may be a sub hierarchy (microverse within a microverse) fueling the battery.
GÇ£This is not merely stellar engineering. This is engineering the topology of space and time so as to serve a civilization. This was nothing less than an attempt to focus the telos of the universe itself on their existence and needs. Astounding arrogance. A hubris the like of which casts we Jove into the role of humble mendicants to the impassive stars. We should be thankful that the Talocan, while leaving their traces behind them, are no longer present in New Eden or Anoikis.
I jest. This is a great read that you should check out yourself if you're into lore. http://community.eveonline.com/backstory/chronicles/inheritance/

The truth is even more horrifying
I have reason to believe the whole of our existence is a computer simulation intended for use as some sort of sick entertainment by an even more powerful ancient human civilization, in some world known as "Eyessland"
I believe that even now, they meddle with us... changing things in our world to suit them |

I read it once but I still don't understand how y'all are coming to this conclusion, could one of y'all explaine it to me?

This was more meant as a humorous pseudo-theory. It's a reference to Rick and Morty. Talocan are apparently one of the first ancient human empires to travel through the Eve gate and settled far enough away not to be affected by the collapse of the EVE gate. They held knowledge on how to warp the fabric of space and basically create new artificial space--a placed called Anoikis.
Quote:GÇ£I would assert it. Here we come to that fact that shook the Third Jove Empire to its core. This is a fact that took many decades of exploration and investigation to establish. A fact that was not readily accepted by all but a fact, like all facts, that in the end we had to face. Anoikis is artificial.GÇ¥
Raish involuntarily gasped. GǣArtificial? You mean to say thatGǪGǥ
GÇ£I mean to say that the stellar engineering swarm in orbit around W477-P is the least of the achievements of the Talocan civilization. I strongly suspect it is not the only such engine in existence for one. For another, it is itself only a component in the grand design that the Talocan made real. Think of it. They built a stable network of wormhole connections among star systems that would not ordinarily or readily support such connections with each other. They altered the very fabric of space-time in the networkGÇÖs systems. They altered resonance points and so arranged matters so as to be able to move between the systems of the Anoikis network with the ease that you and I might move between rooms in a house.
'The Talocan were, judging from the remains of Talocan technology found in the archaeological record, masters of Spatial Manipulation and Hypereuclidean Mathematics.' -EVElopedia
They have the ability to manipulate space in a way that is lightyears beyond the Jove. With my space-grade tinfoil. I am strongly buying into the idea that Talocan manufactured the original EVE gate--maybe as a way to coax the development of humanity, or just funnel people into a microverse that powers some greater machine back in Terran (part of the universe where Earth is).
