Hello CPM members. It has come to my attention that you are our representatives for communication between ourselves and CCP.
Could we find out what the hell is going on? There are probably quite a few of us that strangely enough still want to spend a little money on this game. However I for one cannot justify spending money until something is said.
Will there be any AUR discounts for the festive season. Are CCP about to shut down DUST for good? I know these might seem like silly questions but they are legitimate concerns that we as players have.
I would assume that CCP still wants to make any profit that they can on this game so would you do us and them the favour and throw us a bone here?
Kind Regards, The DUST 514 playerbase. |

Thank you but I am not on twitter therefore have no way to pass on these concerns. Besides without coming across in a bad way, is this not what we have the CPM for? |

They talk with a few guys around the Shnghai office about balancing and what not from what we are told anyway.
It has been made very clear by Archduke and others that communication on future specifics has been forbidden from way above that level.
I will only give you the same advice I have been giving everyone else in reference to trying to get a future here. STOP spending money and stop allowing others to spend money. If burger king added cow manure to the burgers and refused to say anything about a change would you tell them this is okay by purchasing cow manure burgers? NO, you would stop buying until they went back to beef.
Ultimately we are now in a battle against the hierarchy of CCP which means promises and pleads do not do anything what so ever. Only affecting the bottom line will force action.

This advice here is terrible example of what ccp is doing. In no way shape or form are they forcing you to play the game. They also aren't lying to you about whether or not you have s*** in your sandwich or forcing you to eat said s*** sandwich. The option to spend your hard earned money somewhere else is always available.

The simple fact is we are being served s**t sandwiches and some people are dumb enough to keep on spending money on it supporting it while also saying we don't want s**t sandwiches.
CCP is a company, they listen to one thing, PROFITS. As long as s**t sandwiches are profitable they will keep serving them.
No where did I say lying about it.
No where did I say forcing anyone.
Obviously the option to spend it else where is available. I am only trying to make the point that pumping in money and then whining about the situation is going to get you no where.

Oh you mean when they actually worked on it to try to make it profitable instead of coasting along absolutely min / maxing?
When they actually added content instead of taking it away?
When they made a commitment to and stuck fairly well to monthly updates?
When players said the game sucks on PS3 and CCP said okay and made a half commitment to a new platform?
EDIT:
How about when the game was not profitable and players said we would buy respecs and skins? Even after CCP had said respecs will never exist in Dust for so long they gave in and added them to get profitable.

Kind Regards, The DUST 514 playerbase. At times i can't blame CCP for not saying a word, so many dust players deserve it. Not judging on their dedication to the game, it is something beyond that.

Breakin Stuff isn't here to point it out so I will point it out for him: "Not spending money and especially not playing the game is a fast way for CCP to see that 'interest in the game has ended'."
I *am* here to point out the double standard: "I am not spending money on DUST until I know that I am not just spending money on an already dead game." CCP: "Well, I guess we don't have the money to port DUST now. No point seeing as how no one is interested anymore
"Let's all spend 10-20 dollars on Aurum for the Holidays! Make CCP realize that there is still interest in the game!" CCP: "Why would we port/remake a game that is finally seeing a profit?"

Yes, keep pumping out the utter bull crap that companies use to give them the ability to min / max as efficiently as possible.
As I pointed out above this game has never had more support from CCP than when it was in the red. In fact it was when the game was way in the red and getting horrible reviews from all over that CCP said okay we are going to go to a new platform and try to do a better job. This has literally already happened once and people just do not seem to get it.
There are two scenarios:
CCP still wants to make a FPS and will either coast along here sucking up easy profits until those go away at which time they will make an effort to become profitable again. Why would they throw away profits that are right here for a massive reinvestment based on the promises of players?
CCP has given up on the idea and decided to go in full bore on VR meaning they are just going to coast along here until Sony shuts down PSN for the PS3 so they can say it is not their fault and they tried their best. If this is really what you want and you are satisfied with the status quo then by all means keep pumping in money and let them know they can ride a free cash wave all the way home.
Either way pumping in money telling them that a half assed job is a good idea only prolongs the inevitable with nothing good happening between now and then.

Your character was only here middle of that. Yes you were here for some of the glitches but not the really ****** ones that came from promise content that was obviously not tested very well before release. But you are stating to hit close to the point I am make. It is fairy obvious that most people don't realize that most of the content provided to us doing that time was basically done. It just needed to be tested on a larger group of people.
At this point in the game anything new is being build now. That takes time. Things may be scrapped just as other things progress. To top off all that greatness developers now are still trying to fix bugs that were made when all those other monthly updates were coming out. There is a lot on the new teams plate as is.
I personally wouldn't want to talk to the community either about new content if every other word was give us a port. I do wish that the community would try to be a bit more understanding of this. However it is clear that most would rather whine about what they want instead of letting the developers do their jobs. As for right now the best solution for ccp is silence.

And that right there is the predicament I find myself in however all I am asking for is the knowledge that the game will continue on for at least some reasonable amount of time. If the game has another year left or something then I am happy to spend more but if CCP are pulling it down in the new year for instance, I would be gutted to spend any money now.
I have always thought that CCP could easily snag a fair chunk of cash if they went for a kickstarter for a DUST port or something. I know myself and many others would put into that pot. |

They are done talking to us. And I don't blame them. I dragged confirmation of 1.3 out of frame personally. And upon reflection feel like a colossal ass hole. The forums are an evil, contagious place. And the louder we scream, the further away they move.
I've since shut my mouth and opened my wallet. I will play and enjoy what they give us. The only reason I forum anymore is to comment on absurdities. Or be absurd. Either one.

To the OP's questions, well, the CPM can't "answer" any of those things at this time. We take your hopes and dreams, your frustration and anger, as well as your thoughtful feedback, amplify it and reflect everything back at CCP.
The community isn't happy. We aren't happy. CCP is busy. That's where we stand now, and it sucks. All any of us can do is wait and hope.
What you do in the meantime, spending money or ignoring the game entirely, is completely up to you.
