Is it possible to go isk positive in FW?
I've found that a particular fit I run is returning ~1k isk less than the total cost. Which is pretty close to breaking even. The suit costs ~17k isk, so it's clearly returning more than the supposed 20%(or whatever the number is, I forget). Just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to make isk in FW, conventionally, so to speak.

I am, but an unmodded APEX returns 0 isk.

Use APEX suits and win.
Payments are 20% of lost money on loses and 40% of lost money on victories.
I have not done the exact math but I believe you are making a profit if you use a full LP fitted suit and win.

Yeah, I'd suggest using apex or find a good logi to roll with.

Its possible to go isk positive in a fw match. But only by using a nomodified apex or starter fit. Then selling whatever salvage you might earn. Technically positive since you spent no isk but gained it right?

LP gear costs approximately 15% of the ISK amount of the equal ISK only item.
What this means is even in loss as long as you do not lose more LP than you spent then you go ISK positive when using all LP gear.
On a win you have approximately a 25% gain which gain be used to cover non LP items.
What this means is all you have to do is run as loyal a fit as possible and you will in fact go ISK positive even in a defeat. Once you achieve level 7 or above in your chosen faction the potential profits are pretty large when you account for the LP gains that will offset other match losses which leave you LP negative.
To stay positive you should be running loyal fits equal to roughly your standings level.
Levels 1 - 4 run basic.
Levels 5 - 6 run advanced.
Levels 7 - 10 run proto.
Obviously you can use lower levels but the profit margin on losing those suits makes it worth while to run as long as you use it to win 60 - 70% of the time so that you do not go LP negative.

I have suits fitted that are 97% cal lp. If I run only them in fw and win, I profit. One booster is dirt cheap and negates lp consideration. And makes losses sting less.
I am rank 9, but I discovered this around rank 6 and have shared it in many threads. Using full lp fit in place of apex increases gains by a noticeable amount.
I haven't done the maths, but I've seen my isk not go down for three weeks of full cal fw.
Of course there's the winning part...
