in all other fps that I know of there is a position called prone why is it not here snipers should be able to lay on there bellys and shot there snipers like they in all other games

I think it would literally be impossible because we are wearing probably 50-100 pounds of gear on a medium suit and even more on a heavy suit.
Now I could see that working with a light suit though.

just saying in real military its abot 50-100 pounds of gear on you as well it should be possible |

it should only be able to be done on medium and light fits I agree heavys shouldn't be able to |

Suggestion. Mine of course.
Assault sniper rifle. 300m range. No sway on standing position.
Ballistic cannon. Minmatar heavy weapon.
Laser cannon. Amarr heavy weapon.
Ion cannon. Gallente heavy weapon.
Space battle. Think zero gravity battle.
Underwater battle. Oxygen limitation fighting.
Mcc battle. Think of the 2 mcc crashed against its other. Were fighting in the falling debris.
Sounds fun to me.

You seem under the wrong impression, that there is still somebody in the dev team, who is actually educated to do so.
Let me shine some light on that. All we know, is that there is a dude who is a numbercruncher (CCP Rattati) in charge of things. Hes not a real game developer (like programmer) but an accountist that has been put on the number crunching part of the game (balancing, which he did very well). Nothing was heard of him since end of October...
There is a dude who is working on menus (CCP Lancer) he brought you that lovely warbarge with those nice circular thingies which show progress in production.
Another dude (CCP Alpaca) is working on doing the stuff that happens betwheen those menus and the game...
Other than that we have only heard of QA guys, but nobody is actually working on anything related to the enginne, animations, models or sounds in the game. The only thing they can do right now, is changing colors and stats of items or menus. NOTHING else! Warlords was basically an additional screen where you can put adittional free stuff (warbarge components) into skills (warbarge subsytems) This is all done in menus and backend programming. Nothing in the actual game has changed. The last real change in game was the introduction of Acquisition gamemode. Everything else is just items and different ways of obtaining them.
Which means, there is nobody who actually can change the animations or anything like that!

I have a feeling that if prone was a thing in dust.
The render would be horrific, to the point that people would appear to fall through the floor I'd imagine.
I'm actually glad that prone isn't a thing in this game.
dust is life...
... uncertain, and usually pretty dissapointing.

I kinda like this idea, but I would add, if you're in prone position, and you're hit from the front... insta head shot because that's what's exposed. That would be the down side, the up side to balance it could be an extra range bonus as your shot would be more stable. Of course we're just dreaming here, only update we're likely to get will be a new skin and an unnecessary nerf to something while something else gets an unnecessary buff.
