The War Room is usually composed of stories of Top-Tier Corporations in the PC side of Dust. I want to hear stories from the UnderDogs, the corporations that were a part of PC but weren't really talked about. Examples: The Third Day, Science for Death, Cafe Speed Plains, Subsonic Synthesis, Ghost Wolf Industries, Swarm of Sushi, Unagi Pie 2nd Stage, NFSounds, DETHDEALERS, Vacuum Cleaner LLC., Retro Pro Gamers, and so many others. All formed from tight-knit groups of friends, these strories would be interesting. Maybe not for the War Room but still. o7

While building the foundation that still supports the corp name to this day, Capital Acquisitions LLC spent a long time not just as underdogs but as a literal Bad News Bears team in Molden Heath. Our group had its standout performers, yes, but overwhelmingly was staffed with the sort of anti-hero personnel whose individual stats and performances were rarely impressive.
It was the pressure of PC that refined us and ultimately shaped our focus to PC almost exclusively- If you did not PC you did not carry our tags.
It was the burden of hard losses against hard opponents that strengthened our resolve and our ability to carry ourselves forward. As it was the shared glory between us after hard-fought wins that bonded us and made us a Team.
And it was a rabble of a Team; Too many Logis, never enough vehicles or AV, always somebody killing nickmunson, the warbarge always empty until 15 seconds to boots, on and on. But we stuck with it, actively sought to improve where we saw we needed it, preserve things that worked, trained closely with friends and allies in their PCs or scrims sharing knowledge. Until, one day, after months and months of being kicked out of MH, to return, to get kicked out again, we opened our starmaps and read the Molden Heath holdings percentages:
Capital Acquisitions: A whole ******* lot of that map, bitches.

Dust User decided to bestow his honor upon Horizons' Edge and for his help and support, Horizons' Edge was used as a base to launch around 60 or 70 PC attacks.
We won a handful, lost, and no showed battles. Negative Feedback declared it as an Act of War, and attacked the other members of the No Context alliance. Horizons' Edge wasn't attacked at all, and we managed to flip 2 districts neither belonging to NF, (one battle was a no show on all 3 parts. This was during the mass attack.)
We held 4 districts for a good week while managing attacks / defenses. We got burned out after that week, and sold the clones of 3 districts.

During the FEC war, at the very beginning, I was in the Phoenix Federation Pud, Vice and XDrake were the directors. Pud had decided that the majority of our attacks would be TP. I'm pretty sure our average SP of our teams at the time was about 5 mill. We fought TP which seemed like a 100 times lol. After we were redlined countless times we finally held HP for an entire match.
At first we had no stragy. Then we started learning pretty quick. It was brutal for us but we stuck it out till the end at least our main guys did. We were a tight group for a couple of years! We all moved to Necro because Pud left with internal conflict. Not all of Phoenix Fed saw the fights as good. We always wanted to be the underdog. I still hold that same philosophy today.
I wonder how bad ass we would have been had all things stayed the same key players left at different times. Those times that had with those guys I will never forget!

I didn't really get the chance to be in an UnderDog corp during my introduction into PC. I was mostly getting hired for PCs. My 1st real introduction was when I joined TP and we got hired by our good friends OSGR Valdez and Neodarc (To... Flatlines). Our 1st fight was against What The French then soon AE. Although I don't really play this game anymore, it had an impact on my gaming history. These stories are what make this game great, hopeful for a PS4 port soon. o7

When I was in Sub Synth back in the day, we were really chill out and we mostly just had fun. We weren't trying to necessarily "win" PC, in our mind a win was having as much fun as possible.

I can comment about two of those corps listed in the OP....Science for Death and Vacuum cleaners. Iremember Vulkan Olki (I think he was the leader)...I remember seeing his squad in pubs early and I respected his game. I wanted to recruit him but I figured they had their own thing going on in Science for Death. So, I asked him to pc for RND when we were short for real early timers. They used to tag along when we used to attack Nyain San in the morning. The guys we used were competitive. I wanted to help them get into pc so I used them as ringers until they got enough players and then I gave them their first district.
Vacuum Cleaners.....fought two mini wars back in early pc with them. It was during the flaylock era and they were the first group that I've ever seen spam explosives so much. Anyway, we situated ourselves on Ennur with 3 districts. Out of the blue, Vacuum launched attacks on all of our districts. We beat them and they launched another set of 3 attacks on the districts. But they stopped after the second wave. After the Imps took Meildorf from STB and they retired, Vacuum landed some districts on Meildorf. I wanted to pay them back for launching so many battles before so I launched a single attack on one of their districts. They (RUST 415 @ the time...Vacuum Cleaners and LUX Aetna) retaliated by launching another string of attacks on all of our districts. Long story short, we won every defense and retaliated by launching attacks on all of their districts on Meildorf and took all of them.
Shout out to them though because they never played chicken.

I'll bite...because Nega.
I started out in a very small corp called Kill Mode Activated. The CEO had been a former SFD member who had split of with some of the directors to form SFL (Science for Life). He had also maintained a pretty tight relationship with DETHDEALERS. KMA never really got off the ground because Creno quit after FF14, which prompted me (second in command of the corp) to bring all KMA players over into a merge with DDLRS (post Gavisty as CEO)
For a couple months, Gatlock had been CEO of DDLRS, but eventually he moved to PS4 so we all voted and somehow Therm won vote for CEO, though it was the wrong choice. I personally think that Jeremy Hatfield would have been the better choice because he had the resilience and patience to lead a losing team into a winning streak.
No offense to Thermy of course, he just got burnt out and wasn't patient with people who needed the guidance. That inevitably resulted in his decision to merge DDLRS into Random Gunz, though some of us decided to go to other places (for me and three others that place was KEQ).
Basically, there were a good amount of us DDLRS who are tight and good friends, though we all parted our separate ways (for the most part) we still occasionally play together. I do miss Drosei and his creepiness though. First time I ever met him it was one of those situations where an obnoxious teenage boy was hitting on a girl and just being so creepy that it was funny. Especially all of the innuendos. And who could forget Tai with his "Alcina's Boob Valley" slip?
At the time we may have been underdogs, but we have all grown individually and if we would have all stuck it out together, I don't think we'd be (as gamers) where we are now. I learned from these guys, but I was able to learn more (just as they have all learned more) by joining larger top-tier corporations.

I once fought an entire war against the original AE with OH. OH were the underdogs. At first OH was winning a few matches here and there. I remember getting a 5 piece RE kill vs AE at the end of one of the matches we won. I had a handful of really good scores against AE. For the most part I just got my **** kicked in though. OH was the FoTM corp at the time and had no chemistry. OH was putting up some decent fights against AE at first. After a handful of losses OH lost momentum and just gave up. Radar didn't pay anyone and OH fell apart as the FoTM corp. I was pissed at first how radar handled everything but now I don't care anymore. Isk is useless. Those losses really helped me improve on holes in my game play that I was unaware of from always being on the winning side of wars.
