When I'm flying my ADS I often get the problem of the deployment menu spamming for no reason, leading me to crash. It most often happens when I'm doing some fancy sweeping maneuver. I probably lose 2-3 ADS to this each time I play. Is this just my controller, or do you all get this too?

I broke my first controller out of rage. Well... partially broke... it had cracks in it's casing. After that moment things got weird, I started crouching for no reason, the team list opened out of nowhere...

Then I found out it was from twisting the controller or holding it too firmly. So, I opened it up and found out a little strip of paper which contains the contact bar was slightly out of place, I moved it back, and it worked normally again.

I think I've had that happen a couple of times, not too often to be a noticable glitch. Might be the controller going bad.

I do have my cheap Vizio TV keep trying to change the resolution. Or, maybe it is the PS3 doing that, but I wonder if it would do that on a better brand of TV. Anyway, the screen goes blank as it is changing the resolution and I crash, almost crash or get shot down.

Similar issues were reported by other players as well, and as far as I know, this is related to the controller itself. In many cases older, damaged or just worn out controllers may have internal contact issues, where using the two analog sticks can activate the pressure-sensitive buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, Square, L1, R1) and the pressure-sensitive directional pad. This can bring up the Leaderboard, Map or off-map support selection window in the most unfortunate situations. Unfortunately we cannot directly assist with this, we can only suggest to try and clean the interior of the controller, reconnect it or to try using a new one.

I've personally experienced both. Data faults and controller.

I had this old controller that had begun showing signs of wear and had begun experiencing several different bugs including the map randomly opening or going into the leaderboards mid sprint.

I bought a new controller right around a new built release. Deleted dust and ALL related files. Reinstalled.
Plugged in new controller and blamo...just like new.

Some several months later dust released a new build. New download means I have to delete ALL dust related files.
Shortly after that my roommates young kid destroyes my new ds3.

 I plugged in my "broken","worn" ds3.....

 Works like new.

Try deleting ALL dust related files and reinstalling. Worked wonders for me.

Every once in a while, Dust has been known to have periods of time when random map/menu entries have been tied to certain actions, in random matches for random time.

I know because I've seen people report some bugs. Some people blamed their controllers which they were using.
I had exact same promblems described - and I was using only keyboard and mouse in those cases. --> Controller blame busted.

I've used my DS4 controller with my PS3 and it works fine except I get no vibration feedback. For some that's actually a good thing.

Has anyone else tried the DS4 and found that these random button press issues are eliminated? Also, is there some way to get vibration going on them when connected to a PS3?

The DS4 generally looks like a more sturdy controller. I think I'd prefer to use a DS4 over a DS3 if I could get vibration feedback working.
