How about smaller than an lav? Like a one or two person speeder bike that one can use their primary weapon on, or the operator can have a simple infantry gun on the front. Maybe a scout tank? Very light and fast, but lower pg obviously so it can't really be fitted proto turrets easily, so it isn't op. Maybe even while we're at it, make a VEHICLE CLOAK. and there's already talk of jet fighters in dust which will sorta be like the scout of the air..

Art/models from an old fanfest presentation.
Both Speeder bikes and Jet Fighters where planned (and rigged to some extent), but never made it in-game because of Memory Limitations on the PS3...I believe (If I'm remembering correctly) The Gallente RDV is actually in the Game Assets (or was at some point) but never loaded for that same reason.
I would love to have played with the Speeder-Bikes...but alas
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.

We had SLAV a long time ago. Had blue trims and skill bonus increased acceleration. Was crazy fragile though.

Cloaks are, in general, stupid.
E-War itself and E-War invisibility is cool as heck on the other hand.

Cloaks sure but various forms of E-War stealth module not so much. Vehicle Armour Coatings could be designed to hide players better on the minimap creating a field of Covert Op's HAV, LAV, and DS.
Not only that but you could also have coating that increases the amount of time before Swarm Launcher lock onto you, reduced the lock on range, etc.
Hell outfitting vehicles could be much more in depth if vehicles took into account different statistics than infantry such as tonnage, armour coating, etc and not just Shield, Armour, PG, and CPU.

Indeed, but I believe that Thaddeus Reynolds is correct. The PS3 is just not able to handle the processing and memory. HAV's and LAV's should not cloak. It would only make sense if the DS could cloak. I believe that was a thing during beta. It wasn't invisible but it had a small sig and was a ***** to lock onto as a result. They should bring back the Logi LAVs though. Those were nice. Put it in a nice small place next to a group of guys and it made for a strong defense.

Indeed. I'm well aware that the PS3 lacks the capacity to handle any more content despite having two dusters create a potential solution that cut down on memory usage. In the end I can't remember how practical a solution it was but...... we can only dream.

The problem is not the PS3 it is unoptimized code and poor planning from the original development team. This primarily stems from the forced switch to UE3 when Carbon was melting down PS3s.
There are hundreds of PS3 games out there with WAYYYY more assets and action going on than in Dust 514. Scapegoating the PS3 just does not cut it.
