I have unallocated SP that is just building up right now so I am thinking about using some of it to skill up that Revive Needle but I am not sure how much use I will get out of it in a battle.
How often do random blueberries request for a revive? I know I regularly request it so long as I am not in a situation where I need to switch Dropsuits but I'm curious about the other blueberries out there.

depends on the map and situation I think. If you are going to run logi then definitely use it. People are more likely to hit the help button when they see there are logis around repping people. Or even if you are not running logi but others are repping in the area same goes. I don't know any map names but any area where your team is bunkered down or in a centralized area is always a good time for injector. Nanohives and links are more prolific in these areas also so you don't usually need your own if you have one equipment slot like an assault.
From the other point of view, as a random blueberry running solo (aka me) I will always ask for revive when screen says a nanite injector is within x meters or I see a needle on the spawn select screen. |

This is kind of an edit to what I said before.
Being revived is usually awesome but its really annoying when someone uses a basic needle leaving you with minimal health and then they DON'T rep you back up. So if you run an injector without a rep tool then make it a good one, or if you are a logi finish the job afterwards. |

As a solo player who started as a logi I can say that the needle is pretty heavily requested. Most of the time the Blueberries will wait about 5-10 seconds before requesting help to make sure that the area is free from Reds though. It certainly won't get you as many WP as links, or reps though.
A large part of it is also how good you individually are. If you need to revive your teammates that means they're dying. If you aren't able to fight through the enemies that killed them it's pointless to carry a needle.

Assuming you talking about a suit that isn't a logi.
If solo and I'm using a ScR or ARR I'll use a proto needle IF I can't fit N11 flux uplinks (or better).
If im solo and using a CR the nanohive is pretty much a requirement.
UPLINKS > NEEDLE
In terms of usefulness to the team uplinks usually have a greater impact on the team. Preserving clone count being the obvious situation where needles would be more beneficial but meh. Needles can keep pressure on the enemy team in pubs tho. Proto sticks are only like 12k so go for those if you can fit them.

You should try to 5 out nanos anyway because it helps with fitting cost of nano items.
Dont believe me?
Get a blank suit that isnt a logi. Put a nano on it Look at the cpu used vs the listed cpu cost
And if you look at the nanocircuitry skill in the market it says it gives % 5 reduction. Doesn't say that in the skill tree because CCP.

Lol, God no!
Only time a needle would be useful now is when you are in a squad and there is clear comms about getting a revive. I've even activated a request for a revive when we are obviously taking e point and still don't get one anyway, so I gave up.

I'm all about the needle on every suit of mine, keeps people running good gear when they are not losing stuff. But make sure to either kill the reds first or wait till they are distracted before using it, or you will just get yourself (and possibly them again) killed.

With me you don't have to worry about crap equipment.
Right now my GalLogis are built for permascanning so on both my Proto and 'APEX' GalLogis I have equipped two Proto Scanners (CreoDron Active Scanner), links, and hives. This is a very slayer oriented GalLogi I have going.
This new GalLogi will be a bit more support oriented. I skilled up the Repair Module all the way since this event gave me an excuse to do that so I plan on running a Proto Repair Tool and a Proto Needle on this new GalLogi. |

I never bothered to check to see what skill it was that got you the Nanite Injector.
I maxed this Naninte Injector skill out a long *** time ago.
I have over 89 million skill points sitting on 1.6 million unallocated. I think it is time to skill into Tanks. |

After my links are on the field, I usually run a 100% needle, don't know why but I enjoy picking people up. Comes in handy too when you run into some heavy opposition.

I run the militia medic bpo suit that's given to everyone all the time on my alt. Usually they will request for help but there's a few newbs that will have you hovering over their body waiting for them to x-up when they never do... They just sit there

Do you mean is running a needle is worth it on a Logi suit?
I had to read through your posts twice... because that is frankly astonishing.
What kind of crappy logi fit is one that provide zero support?
If you aint repping or reviving just run an assault suit, 'cause you're useless.

Mostly solo player now days. The only suit I don't slap a PRO needle on is my Sentinel (but I hardly ever play it cause I really reallllly suck at being an heavy and I'm already a bad player.)
Reviving really amounts to picking and choosing your own mini battle really.
- Sometimes, a blue goes down, 8 man team storms and clears and they still won't want a revive. I can complain but maybe he was out of ammo, maybe he really wanted a different suit, and maybe even he had real life going on and used those few bleed out seconds to take care of it. Or maybe even he just hates revives.
- Sometimes, I'll have someone charge an 8 man team in the open, spam the revive button and expect me to wander out there like I'm bullet proof and like my PRO needle suddenly makes you bullet proof too. But because I didn't revive you in a ****** situation, you automatically think all logi's suck and never revive.
- Sometimes I *thought* we cleared the area and I revived you just to see you go down from a thale/shogun/remote. Nothing makes me feel worse than reviving you to die immediately again. It doesn't happen often, but the few who take it personal are the ones spewing on how logi's are worthless.
- Sometimes, I yell at my screen (don't you do it...Don't you do it!... DON'T) when I see a noob wander out in the open to save someone I know is exposed and won't live thru the revive. When that happens, I have my rep tool out and start healing the revived blue immediately. The few times I can heal him enough to bunny hop into cover with only 5 armor left, I feel like a hero.
- Sometimes, that same blue will look at my golden rope and think I was the idiot that revived them with a ****** needle in the middle of a fire fight. Now I just feel bitter instead of a hero.
- Sometimes, I'm the one who needs a revive. And as a logi (most of the time), I greatly appreciate it when an assault/mando gets me back on my feet, even if it's only 50% of the way there. They're my heroes.
I'm tired of this being pictured as extreme one way or another. No situation is perfect, no encounter is truly the same and unless we were all a sync'ed unit, we have no idea which of the above actually happened because we can only see our own tunnel vision.
So instead of getting a bunch of strong opinions on two sides of a spectrum, I would suggest you just slap on a needle and see what happens. If it's not for you, move on. But don't let someone else polarize the game through their own view in their helmet.

If you actually plan to use it, then absolutely. I can't tell you how many times I've laid there calling for help only to see a million needles pass me by.
Moral of the story; if you are actually going to pick people up then yes. If you aren't, then don't even waste your sp.

My current Logi suits are set up with two CreoDron Active Scanners, Uplinks, and Ammo/Armor Repair Nanohives. I can assure you a Logi Suit can be fitted to be very useful even without a Repair Tool and a Needle.
Also, remember this one thing about me and my mindset when running my GalLogi. My GalLogi is meant to give my teammates an upper hand in a match, my GalLogi is not meant to hold my teammates hand in a match.

Ditto. Though sometimes the needler (blueberry from my perspective) won't clear the area first.

I have been playing for a year and a half now. I had a relatively low profile the entire first year of me playing this game because I had never bothered or even considered playing in a squad or joining a Corporation that actually had other people in it and I was only moderately active on the forums. |
