Or, can anyone remember what Ancient Exiles named their planet?
Do you even know what a Squad Cup is?
Ever hear of corps called TeamPlayers, What the French, The Rainbow Effect, etc?
Perhaps, a tournament is in order for this game to really revamp the community. |

yes seeing as every squad cup champion mentions it in their signature
yes because WTF were formed in 2010 possibly 2011 on MAG
yes because the rainbow effect were formed on MAG in 2011 possibly 2012 from the name "the rainbow effect" which was an offshoot of players who felt they were too good for a casual clan like deadly blue dots, people who didn't like "carrying" when we deployed 32 people into a ******* acquisition, they felt it was better to play with half a squad woop woop.
but I don't know about the planet naming.
jesus christ the level of patronising in this post is off the charts.

True, few great players have emerged in this game over the last year, if any.
But, perhaps it's time to look into the future with what we have. Build a new class.
Another tournament may bring back some vets, who can pass along knowledge, and also spark some interest within the community again. |

This isn't about another Hall of Fame of DUST 514, it's about bringing back what once made this game and community a step above. Tournements |

Well, the last event I tried to organize was the CEO Squad Cup, but DNS happened, blah, blah, blah...
But, I suppose I can take another try. See if this community has the drive the former payers did... |

I not only remember the Dust Squad Cup but was in it!! Opus squad with Israck, salty sea dog, Andy Andio etc
So much fun. Squad v squad domination :)
I also totally wanted another cup ever since. I legit submitted two tickets with the cup hosting site ESL to ask if they would have another tournament- AGES ago. This was the response I received.
25th April 2014
"As it stands at the moment I have been intending to run another tournament but due to later than expected 1.8 patch and fanfest rapidly approaching, it has had to be put on the back burner for now. After fanfest, I will look into the possibility of a tournament, most likely in the next patch after fanfest"
I followed up again after fanfest (if you recall it was the Legion announcement head-**** on) to be told "I am sorry to inform you that the Dust514 section is closed".
So um.. yeah... meow.

Squad cup was won by 'power rangers'? Which was Zaria, B3ar, and 2 others I can't remember, have a feeling one was the dude who used to rock the scr. I'd like to say one was kain but I can't imagine anyone would have picked kain for a competitive match???

O.H. won Squad Cup for North America. I remember because I was an alternate on the O.H. team. I didn't even have O.H. tags then but I got them soon afterwards.

OH won the squad cup. Can't remember the exact team.
Played against TP, WTF, Rainbow on more than a few occasions. I miss Alldin Kan and Preston D a ton, not many heavies left of that caliber.
I can't remember what AE named their planet. I know that Kadlina has been fought over for AGES though as everyone's "Home Planet".
And no, a Tournament won't revamp the community. It would get some vets back for a bit, but most of us can't deal with the game for long periods of time. Too many problems make it frustrating to play at length.

Isn't PFHBz the ones who quit the game after the Tac AR got nerfed

I don't think the community needs another squad cup to be revamped...it actually needs more players !! and probably also needs the good old glories to come back :D and....another Cronos vs Eon war  . I know I'll come back if this would ever happen.

A squad cup would help bring new players, because it could be streamed and media shared.
What other game could have such organized tournaments?
Plus, it would strip the power these stupid unfair events have on new players. |

I'm not really looking to bring back the greats. The last thing this playerbase needs is for more stompers to take advantage of the public broken matchmaking system.
By having events specifically for organized players, it will promote fairness.
If newer players should choose to join the event, it will be slaughter by choice. This last "logi" event was an absolute disaster for new players, as it was basically just an encouragement of tank spam. |
