First I need to apologize for my english...This couple months I was trying to adjust to the playstyle of matches and almost always end in fight where on my side r Adv and basic dropouts and on other side we have proto stomping Mercs with a lot of isk, and this case maybe old but my friend Ipas Fear and me came to solution to this problem with simple options that will change how people play dust. What im try to say is can u put in option to chose what lvl of match u want to play...for exp.for adv lvl u can use onlyadv gear,and for proto only proto gear(of course isk and SP payout is bigger if lvl of match is harder) and u might think ok what about vets, well...cuz vets r vets with almost every possible thing lvled up...u can limit skills for matches in way that if u pick basic,then u can use bonuses for 1st lvl of skill (basic), for adv same thing for skill, same for proto...I would like ur opinion and opinion of devs and famous duke tnx for ur time and see u on field |

So what you're saying, is that you want tiered matchmaking where you pay to be matched up in a low tier,but you can only use the gear level that you paid to join?

Because of how small the playerbase is right now it wouldn't be practical to break up the matches by each tier of gear due to several reasons such as:
1. the wait times for matches would end up being way too long
2. we don't have enough dropsuit fitting slots (30 max right now) to create a fitting for all scenarios for each tier of gear
I had suggested before just removing Proto/Officer Gear from Public Matches and having Faction Warfare be the gamemode where a merc can run Proto/Officer Gear. The actual removal of Proto Weapons from Public Matches will not do much to better match experience but collectively removing Proto Modules, Equipment, Grenades, Weapons, and Suits should have a major impact.
When it comes down to the actual skills a merc skills up I don't think the effect of those should be limited at any time. The Skill Tree is a very unique feature of this game and part of that feature is the requirement that mercs learn to manage their SP correctly. I feel that having the skills fully effective at all times once they are skilled up is an effective means to get people to realize early on that they need to invest their SP wisely. |

also for ur first thing (Problem with search for battle) that could be fixed with scotty search from uprising but with elements of this scotty (of course this maybe something that's bulls**** for devs hey this is general talk and i know that's 14years old code and it just my opinion on scotty timer)...for second problem u (30 dropsuits max u can create) for that u actually don't need more then 5 suits per lvl for exp.(logi,2 types of heavy (hmg and forge),assault and scout ) 5x3 =15 suits for set-up ,so technically u can double that and u have for every possible situation u can think of....for 3rd part point is technically if u use proto u have biger gamble to lose alot of isk or win alot of it... officer gear and experimental gear should be only used in PC battles(of course also "normal "gear(std,adv,proto) can be used in PC battles)...for FW cool idea is that u can use same system as for pub (which i mentioned in my 1st comment )) and lp gear will be more interesting that way |

Protostompers seldom fight Protos. So yes, not much ado in the high tier.
most of them will turn to the adv tiers for action so there wont be a much longer wait time.
Or go to FW which would also be great since there are too few battles.
Meanwhile the newbies have the std tier to get experience on a fair level.
Less players would leave battle if they see no stompers
Just my prediction.
Would be worth a try.

I also agree that the player base is too small for this.
That being said, they should just put a flat cap on all pubs and be done with it.
If people want to use proto and officer gear, they have PC and FW.

I was born in BiH. BiH was even more beautifull country before the war in the 90's that was made by dumb and uneducated politicians of Croatia and Serbia. Now it's wasteland in the eyes of 58% unemployed people.

I think you are not familiar about our playerbase so I will make it simple.
Your idea will not work because we have very small playerbase that gets reduced day by day.

oh don't worry, I kill proto suits using basic suits, that isn't a problem.

His point is, there would be no reason to show it on twitch, because there would be no battles. Just infinite timers while scotty tries to find people to start a match. At best a match would be 2-3 people per side, with little to no action to stream.

Basic would stay/ have a very small increase.
Advanced would increase
Proto would be almost 2x the price.
I think someone was saying when dust was still young a proto suit was EXPENSIVE.
Just make em EXPENSIVE again, then increase PC payouts to when people got 3+mil a match.
I just think that'll work... Just my 2 isk

.... Honestly dust needs a dynamic market.. Proto would be too damn expensive because everyone is buying it.. Wouldn't be surprised if a suit was almost 1 mil a pop.
Sigh... But yur right. The rich wouldn't mind a 300k+ suit.
