You know those little red or green/blue symbols floating on everything you see letting you know what team it's on? Well, that's not completely science fiction, the military already uses similar systems to that for aircraft. It's called IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) and it works by transmitting a encrypted signal that verifies you're on the same team.
So, since this is based on a piece of electronics kit, why not a module that lets you temporarily spoof the enemy IFF? If they're not paying attention, they'll see a happy little green/blue mark floating over your head and let you go on your merry way to destroy something behind them.
Personally I'm fine with cloaking for vehicles but it seems a little much for actual soldiers, so I think this is a neat alternative or a possible complimentary thing to add if they're already set on allowing that anyway. What do you guys think? |

That's actually pretty **** smart, imo. |

at first I thought you meant a device that screws up IFF in general and though ehll no it's hard enough mistaking my own team mates for enemies without that, but yea if it's just yourself yea it does sound kindof cool.

So, a Dust 514 version of the "infiltrator disguise" It's hard to tell who's who now, we really all look alike, so this would be great.
Still if we get aesthetic changes to identify teams (dropsuits are colored differently) then we would also need to change skin as well. |

Nah, leave it looking the same. Seriously, people rely so much on the floating dot you could be walking around with a sign that says "hey, I'm not on your team" and they'd still not notice.
I'm very much opposed to this being like the TF2 spy thing, since I don't think that really fits the feel of this particular setting. Just change it to make your dot look like a friendly and the rest is emergent gameplay. Simple, sneaky, disruptive. This is the kind of feature that could open the door to epicness |

Perfect infantry cloaking is in lore (Templar One). This is EW though, which I think should be given to another specialty. More professions so to speak, no need to merge them. |

Oh yeah, forgot about the special ops guys in that one battle. Hmm, yeah, probably make this fit a different specialty. Still, I like the idea of diverse skills rather than just one way of doing things. Thanks for the reminder! |

Grenade method might be a bit too easy for a potensioly very useful bit of kit maybe if you had to say get into the enemies system a bit like ghost reckon future solider did it get one alive hack there systems and make it register you as friendly to the enemy team it would last until you caused enough harm to enemy
Harm could be getting spotted taking down a enemy or sabotaging a vehicle or even the clone reserves, doing this would need a way for enemies to identify you as-well tho maybe a module that high end troops have if you are in a certain range of them detects you as a enemy and enemyies in the proximity |

I really like the IFF spoofing idea. I can imagine it having a time limit and hacking anything (either at the beginning of the hack or once it's done) would cause the spoof to fail. |

^^^ IMO hacking should not tun it off; IFF Scrambler is a purely tactical device and one of its best uses is exactly to hack enemy installation without begin detected. Hitting an enemy should turn it off and being shot as well. Aiming reticule could still change color indicated that players is actually an enemy and also sensors should still be able see threw it.
IFF Scrambler could work similarly to Killzone's Disguise and have cooldown or alternatively be an ability that you can turn off/on and that consumes an energy bar. I prefer the latter, and I play a lot as a infiltrator in Killzone, because here it would not be restricted to a class and so it will need to be flexible, adaptable to all playstyles.
Personally I think that IFF would be truly amazing for amazing for Fighters more than infantry since CCP is considering Stealth Cloak. I suppose fighters with Stealth Cloak would be too overpowered but with IFF they really could be amazing. Dropsuits with Cloak are not that powerful since are deployment vehicles. |

i would much rather have this than have cloaking, this causes alot less trouble among the people who dont like stealth
and y not have it undetectable by sensors if your crouching, that way if theres no one around u can remain unseen by the people that arent even close to u, but if someone does see you it would be obvious |
