I have only ever been able to get a Roden Sniper Rifle through the Experimental Lab; never in salvage or through a Strongbox.
Since the Experimental Lab no longer produces Officer Gear how are we to acquire the Roden Sniper Rifle?
Has anyone ever received a Roden Sniper Rifle through any means besides the Experimental Lab? |

I made a post couple weeks ago and since the lab changes i've not seen any Rodens. thats from monitoring my account getting 3 items a day on the 3 chars and also asking a couple of trading friends in pub chats and none have received any, roughly 4-5 players getting 2 items a day on 3 slots.
I've heard you can get them from strongboxes but no one i speak to on a regular basis has ever received them so i think that they may have been made unobtainable in the current version

It's meta 9, as if it were experimental but I believe it's actually officer. I haven't gotten one anymore which only supports the theory that it's an officer weapon. Therefore, it should be only aquired through strongboxes.
BUT, it's is the rarest sniper (aside from balac sniper). And, like the balac suit, both are extremely rare in their "rareness" groups. So it's just luck now. It's extremely rare.

Isn't it tradeable?
It may be expensive, but likely your only option at quickly acquiring some.

befor elab changes i got them quite frequently. one of the slots on my account has 10-11, i only have 2 on main slot but over the time period since the chnage, i'd have received at least a couple by now, same as with others i've spoken to. at least one of us would have received at least 1.
technically they should still drop from lab but in all honesty i don't believe they were ever meant to have been obtainable in the first place as they were old item code left over from beta (like Khanid Scrambler Pistol) but CCP kinda left them in til they had a 'valid' reason to change it,

I don't remember who I was talking to about this weapons
but they said something a long the lines of the rodent sp
being classified as a prototype weapon. So really we should
be buying these from the marketplace.

I was very fortunate with these. I managed to get up to like 19 on my character. I died quite a few times in it tho. Down to .....9
