Hello all.
I've been thinking and I guess this will definately help.
A lot of new players have complained about problems, most notable the fact that the academy is too short and they are thrown onto matches with stompers.
Since CCP hasent really said anything that will come in 1.3 to help new players, we are left stomping, being stomped, OR HELPING! And that's where I want to bring my Corp in to help. I encourage other corps that don't regularly do PC to try to help out by participating as well.
Extended Acadamy 1.0
The goal- to use CP and attack districts, only bringing in new players.
The goal is to make a player-based matchmaker, bringing new players on a PC team to fight another PC team of new players, keeping out stompers and providing a better experiance to new players.
Here is an example.
My Corp attacks so and so's Corp.
Both platoon leaders bring in new players from pre-made new player chat channel.
New players fight against new players.
The 2 vets are the trainers, taking the players in most need to redline and explaining stuff and what not. The vets are also in charge of supporting team by calling in cheap vehicles for new players to try as yet don't really know how to manage isk. Vet of owner Corp also makes sure to keep battles balanced if they decide to keep district or if they don't mind attacking district again with new players to provide better new player experiance.
It seems simple, and with the help of other corps and players, this can become a reality which will REALLY HELP DUST LIVE!
Ways to help-
Be able to "lend" a district. Basically, let a Corp attack you. Make a treaty so you keep district.
CEOs- if you don't do PC and don't use CP a lot, support new players by also making treaties with other corps to attack.
If you are a CEO and would like to participate by one of the 2 ways mentioned above, please post below.
Extended Academy 1.0- Setup
Matchmaker Chat channel- to be created right after DT. Private, invite only. New players must go through background check to make sure they are not bets trying to get good cash and stomp.

Way to step up to the plate man! Sounds like a good idea, I hope no one takes advantage of this if it works out. Meaning people getting in there that shouldn't be.

Exactly. That's why I will try to be the first to actually do it. It might fail considering it would take a rally chill CEO to accept treaty and let us use district which is prolly a big reason it hasn't been done yet.

Yeah, there are some pie owl taut would try to just take a district and that wouldnt be cool. But hopefully people won't and this could actually work.

ccpee doesnt care about npe remember when they first instated battle academy and we were all like oh no ccp they need more time in there..
and ccp was like hmmm lets make tutorials lol
but if they did care and they were listening this would be a marvelous idea

why should i take numpty randoms instead of corp mates who earned the CP?
if they join corp they can donate thier CP and do it regularly.

i mean realy it wouldnt be hard for all major corps to setup new berry corps that generate their own cp and then guide them into preset battles
for example waravens could make a corp called war pigeons and have all the scrubs they want join generate the cp then settup corp war pigeons to fight slightly fatal absolution (fa scrub corp) and this also gives us a chance to make some super funny corp names

woulndt be bad, but too many corps -_-, to much useless extra data.
the warlords child care would definatly like to fight the THIRD PEBBLE (third rock) or Local Gains (capital aquisition)

warravens auxilaries (probly spelt wrong) is a thing. although theres a bug not allowing me to accept apps atm.
i'm assuming all the players in it are americans/uk coz i've never seen one online but the cp keeps coming.
i was going to attack our main corp and host some noob freindly games.
but others were worried about it being seen as district locking and reflecting badly on us.
if anyone has a corp/district and wants to become sparring partners hit me up. o7

Again, people have been talking about it for at least two years, and CCP hasn't done anything about it. What makes you think you'll get something done? It's like trying to break your way through a brick wall - you won't get anywhere at all, and you'll just end up with a bad concussion, which is probably how new players feel. |

Ok so what you are doing here is using the experienced players to create corps with newplayers who then pc against each other. In other words academy in pc? Right? So for this either of the newberry corp has to hold a district right. Lets say that most of the english speaking top tier corps keep away from the district what about the jap corps or the spanish corps? If they learn about this they are sure to attack. What then? And seeing how the corp is full of newberries they will spam attacks. And the only option would be ringers. Too much work you got there mate.

No, NOT TO MAKE NEW CORPS, just use corps that peieol already have but don't do too much PC

how many corps that actually pc will open themselves up to massive amounts of scrubs...isa good way to get ur vets top go find another corp

NPE is something that Kevall Longstride is the head of. He's the best one to bring this to but you're welcome to share it with the rest of us. I can take a look over it when I have more time (I should have been asleep an hour ago being as I have a test in six hours) but if you'd like to remind me to read it, send me a mail at '[email protected]' with the subject line: "NPE" and I'll be sure to read it over when I have more time.
NPE is something we're concerned about, absolutely, but personally I don't feel that the academy is the best way to handle this. There are other ways that we are looking into that will be far more fruitful and efficient at allowing players to learn the ropes of the game in a less severe environment.
