I find that the best Faction Warfare matches I experience are when both teams have the majority of the people running Proto/Officer Gear.
Why do I see so many people running subpar gear in Faction Warfare?
I find that the amount of gear I see being run in FW that isn't Proto/Officer to be complete ********.
People should save their cheap fits for Skirmish Pubs and start bringing out the good stuff more consistently in FW. |

Because they think that FW doesn't give them enough ISK to keep running it. That and the fact that if they know their Faction is the one getting stomped they give up all together like losers.

Bunch of cheapskates, they are.
I run cheap fits in pubs that way I can afford to run nonstop expensive fits in FW. If my faction is getting stomped I will avoid running Officer Gear but I will be damned if I am going to disrespect the Gallente by fighting for them with gear lower than Proto. |

Some of us can't actually run proto gear yet. If you don't have the skills, then you won't be able to run it, pure and simple.
I have access to Caldari State Assault Ck.0 suits, but don't have the skills to fit them properly and would just lose them in a flash. Am I then to just endlessly lose expensive fits (ISK and LP) because we're supposed to or we're disrespecting our faction? I'm sure that's not the point of FW. To me, FW is about supporting your faction in the best, most effective way possible, and that does NOT mean just mindlessly losing everything you own out of a misguided sense of respect. |

The only difference between my proto suit and my advanced suit is roughly 2 points of damage. That is because of my passive skills and how I fit my Sentinel suits. I can do the same amount of work in my ADV that I could do in my Proto, but it is much cheaper.
Also I do not have officer gear, other than officer HMG, but that's because there is no Gallente Sentinel Officer suit. Do I use this in FW? On occasion, if I need to increase my DPS, but usually the situation does not require it.

This is why I proposed a LP exchange system based on district ownership.
This would make "mercenary" players switch back and forth based on reward to keep the pendulum swinging as well as make loyalists able to create full proto LP fits to fuel their fight.
The mechanics would actually be quite simple. Each faction would simply have LP packs for every other faction in their store. The ISK and LP price would very based on a simple formula which uses the proportion of districts owned by that faction and the enemy faction.
This would also generate some very interesting incentives to win. |

Try to think on a formula for this exchange. I get trapped going back and forth between it being way to beneficial to fight on the losing side and it being way too beneficial to ride the pendulum until it has swung fully.
I feel as tho I am missing some sort of multiplier to balance that risk reward ratio.

HOLY CRAP I THINK I HAVE GOT IT.
Make it so that we can "trade" blocks of 500 LP.
The player base would then set the exchange rates on their own. Obviously a player fighting for the losing faction is not going to part with 500 LP easily while the player for the winning faction is going to have to drop his prices to compete with all his other stompers.
Edit: This would also give FW based corps the ability to assist their newbies in getting started in FW. |

If FW was just meant to be pubs with a different payout and friendly fire then we should go ahead and make it that way.
It is suppose to be a more hardcore mode where players can get better gear out and if they manage it properly make a profit. |

I am comparing to the current dominant gear in FW.
Generally speaking apex and basic gear run the show in FW unless you are syncing. FW was described by CCP as suppose to be a "hard mode". Currently as it stands FW has a lower overall meta than pubs unless you are part of a sync which is the exact opposite of a hard mode.
I have seen all sides of this when it comes to FW and can tell you that FW is in a terrible place right now. This more than anything is because of the fact that whoever you get on your team outside of a sync is more than likely to have garbage gear on and quickly giving up when the match looks lost. If you are on the currently losing side you are just screwed.
In Eve FW is a pendulum war thanks to the mechanics. In Dust the pendulum just gets stuck on one side for an undetermined amount of time thanks to a few Q-syncs, basic meta, and poor match creation. This has to go and it has to go now. |

What the Pancake said. Personally i keep an alt with my ISK on it as a savings type, try to keep no more then 5,150,000 on this character (means constantly giving ALT ISK when i go higher then set amount), run enough of three FW (Gal Cal Min) so even if i lose i have enough LP to make protosuits that cost 1/4 the price of regular protofits.
Only spend enough to were i know ill get it right back. If FW gave out a lot of ISK I'd never run pubs. So I basically run LP proto all the time , if i get low on LP from a Faction ill grind out more LP. Also i never run officer either because market for them/cant-wont afford to lose it, and the ISK i get from that helps me run more FW/build up ISK.

Remember the old argument about using APEX suits in pubs?
I believe some people do that just to run more FW. I would have no problem grinding out an APEX, making my ISK back and then some in pubs, just to run more FW to make more LP protofits & APEX suits.
If FW had higher ISK payout I'd cut out the running pubs part. I view APEXs as a go-to for pubs because pubs are... i don't like them so why waste ISK on it if its not a good fight? Cut your loses.

Since I sold the suit I just ran a less than 17k basic gallente assault with mostly basic weapons and maybe adv modules. I pull the same performance in a basic assault g1as a gk.0 but with less deaths and lower ttk. (^pubs only,I did run proto in pubs at random^)
Only with my logistics AK.0 did I really **** away isk. The suit,a duvolle assault rifle, all proto equipment.core locus is a bite out of my wallet.
I skimped on self protection(armour,sidearm/milita scrambler pistol bpo, high slot module bpos, mostly milita sheild or krins) to run the best reps, uplinks and ammo without completly killing my wallet.
All in All remain isk efficient unless its fw or pc. Then the cash will flow.
