I believe Dust 514 should become a Pay to Play game, that way CCP can get more people to actively work on this game, I mean the way it is now it could be just like EVE if it becomes pay to play

Eve most certainly is pay to play. Just because you can circumvent that with in game money does not make it untrue.
Any game time purchased using in game money was paid for with cash by someone so no matter what CCP gets paid for you to play.

Exactly. There seems to be quite a few misconceptions in this community about EvE. This is the most prevalent as far as I can see, and it's quite misleading.
For the record, I like the fact that Dust ISN'T pay to play, but I think it would probably benefit in many ways from a pay 2 play subscription system....
And I wouldn't call PLEXing (paying for game time ingame with ISK) "circumvention". It's the pinnacle of play dynamics for anyone good enough to be able to achieve it, month after month after month, on every account they own. |
