Another take on it. instead of limiting the amount one person can drop into the battle field, why not set up a sort of point system- limit.
Say each team has this bar of 100 points, it starts out at zero. When ever someone calls in a vehicle it takes up some of those points.
LAV = 20 points HAV = 40 points Drop ship = 45- 50 points
once all the points have been used, or if call in a vehicle that exceeds the limit, the request for that vehicle is denied until another vehicle is destroyed.
the point bar can change depending on the size of the map. So a normal map, like the one we're playing on now would have 100 points, while larger maps could go up to 200- 500 points. Where as small, ambush maps could have 50 points. |

No hard cap on tactics. If you want to roll a mechanized force, let's see how you do when you meet a diverse group with swarms, forges, and HAVs. |

No thanks, its good the way it is. The vehicles in Dust 514 already are a pain to get, you've to accumulate ISK to buy the skillbook, you've to spend a good amount of SP to unlock a certain vehicles, and you pay ISK for each deployment. Thats more than enough of a limit if you ask me. If I can afford to call in 100 tanks in one battle, there should be nothing that stops me from doing it. |

This idea is a coin toss for me, sounds very Mage Knight-ish or 40K-ish but still, could be a game type some time as a trial and for some different team tactics. |

that would make the videos they made with one side rolling up in a platoon or tanks and air vehicles. be false advertising. |

Lets not forget that this game is a game of Merc's, merc's who get paid to do a job. If you and your Merc buddies cannot affoard to answer me and my merc buddies dedication to fulfilling our contracts, you should find a new line of work. Bring what youve got, bring it to win and dont cry that the other guy "bought the win", after all thats what our employers are doing by hiring us in the first, they are "buying a win." |

I doesn't make sense to have unlimited vehicles since the ship they're deployed from still has a limited hold. Deploying vehicles should be somewhat of an strategic thing and not screw the rules I've got isk. Either that or put an cooldown on how often a team can deploy vehicles. |

Considering the fact assets have to be moved, I think at release you'll have to bring the vehicles on the warbarge, or have it Badger-ed over to use.
wtfbooom : the hold might be limited, but those things are still incredibly massive. Not to mention the greatest unspoken truth of New Eden is bigger-on-the-inside cargo magic. For instance, you think a jetcan could really hold 27.5k cubic meters? BTW for measure purposes, the containers at the end of Craterlake appear to be in fact jet-cans, IDK though. |

Keep in mind that, from the opening log in scene, each war barge carries atleast two MCC's. Which would make the Warbarge roughly freighter size. Keeping that in mind and that a Charon can carry 150 Rifters (check me on that I could be wrong its been awhile since I had my hauler subbed) and that each Rifter is the size of a a C-5 Galaxy which can itself carry 5 bradley Fighting Vehicles (APC's) or two Blackhawks (Dropship sized choppers) and you have a lot of hardware that can be dropped on a planet, more then I would say we have ever seen on a map short of the "unending spawn" bug. |

We saw a number of tanks and vehicles rolling straight to an objective in the E3 trailer so I think we can expect more to be able to be fielded in the future. At the present time an unlimited number of tanks makes the frame rate drop to a small stutter, if that is fixed I think we can see as many tanks or other vehicles used, the strategy is not really sound as I have seen unlimited tanks used by my entire team and we were picked off by swarm and forge guns. Good times. |
