Seriously I can not handle another 4 v 10, 7 v 9, or whatever it comes up with. Everyone has shown to be very capable of leaving battle so if they don't like getting put into an already started battle they can put that skill to work.
Imagine I posted the "just do it" video here, I don't feel like searching for it. |

Personally, I always enjoyed trying to break my team out of a redline when I deployed late..
But 90% of the Dust community QQ'd that it was unfair blablabla.. and now look what we have 
- Not placing mercs in ongoing battles to refill places was a really stupid idea.

No actually I did not have much trouble with that as I always ran FW or was in a squad. |

Refill battles with the mercs that are re-queueing because they just noped out of a battle.Want to leave a battle? Fine, but you're just increasing your odds of being thrown in a late battle. If someone starts complaining about being put in too many late battles, we can just laugh at them because we know they're a match-leaver.
Something is killing new player retention.

I complained to a certain extent. Seeing the victory/defeat screen before you even saw the map was annoying AF. I said there should be a limit to when people can join a battle in progress, say 70% finished. Seeing 8 people quit and not a single person rejoin the entire match is also annoying AF also. But once again, CCP took things way overboard instead of making a slight adjustment

The issue is not exclusively battles not filling up late - it's also that they fill up unevenly. Mu ratings or not, when you have people deploying into matches on the side of a team of 10 instead of on the side of a team of 4, there is a problem.
