This event is completey one-sided to Proto squads and people that have no lives that can play all day every day for a week.
Why not just set the vent to if 514 players can manage to get 514 kills then we all get a reset. OR total of 514,000 or 551,144 kills TOTAL between all players. Then everyone whom participated to some degree, maybe played at least a total of 5.14 hours gets a reset. Or hell even just GIVE one to everyone and make the reward something else.
People getting f'd over cause of bad skill selections in the past should be able to have the option to do better rather than pros that play all day get the ability to make themselves even more dangerous to f* the newer players over.

People that don't have the ability to achieve the goals shouldn't complain too much because the skill reset has been available for money for a long time. Anyone that cares so much about a skill reset has probably saved up enough dimes to pay for one by now. If they weren't available for such a long time I would agree, but because they are I don't agree.
I say this as someone who is unlikely to even play the game during the event. Even a skill reset isn't enough to make concert that much effort into the game.

I kind of agree with the OP. The events should be made attainable by everyone. As it stands I will be attaining the skin, and if it is sellable I will be making it available to guys who can't be online for the event at a reasonable price. I don't have any amarr dropsuits, and have no use for this one.
Hopefully the next events are dust driven events, and not really driven by events in eve.

This is a challenge we are participating in. It is not supposed to be easy and made so everyone is able to complete it.
Also, there are going to be a lot of people who complete this challenge without having to run Proto Squads so stop thinking this event is one-sided. |

There are 2 things really worth spending RL money on in Dust: APEX and SP resets. You could get both for less than the cost of a whole game.

If getting 514 kills over seven days is this much of a challenge for you, it's not other players using Proto gear that's the problem.

I want a respec (an need it) but I used my "dimes" for my permit. Some people do need

Here's the thing. This at this moment there are two ways you can get a skill reset. Either you get it for free through this event, and dedicate time to do so. Or you waste money to do so.
If we believe the old mention of "time is money" then you have to give either of them up. Either you can waste time on the event, or money on the skill refund. For that reason even this free event is not free of everything because it's robbing you of precious, non-refundable moments of your life. Though, the path is not terrible if you enjoy it. Though if you don't enjoy it, then it is,simply the means to an end.
You need to either forget about getting a skill refund, buy one, play the event and hope you get lucky, grind away the event to get it or you can do what most people are choosing to do and compete with allies to achieve the goal of the event.
