This might aswell be renamed to the lets complain forum, ive been playing a while ( 2 to 3 years ) on various accounts, and whilst i do agree that some of the most recent bugs are incredibly annoying, that dust has come a long way from what it once was.
People also need to understand that whilst they may not like it, silence from the devs etc usually means they're hard at work trying to resolve major issues ( hence why archduke is the only active one on the forums right now ) and also just because they don't comment doesn't mean that devs arent actively reading your posts.
One of the major issues that people are yammering about right now is the black screen. This WILL be resolved, even as i type this theyre most likely trying everything they can to fix it.
The new event is pretty nice i mean a "free" respec and a skin! This may not seem fair to some people that have families to take care of etc, but for such valuable rewards i can see why it is so hard to obtain them for free. Another thing, there most likely WILL be a logi/support oriented event in the future, it is frustrating for dedicated logis like me to benefit from this, but it is possible, just have to be patient.
Also thankyou to the cpm2 for bridging the gap between ccp and us.
This is just a side note, but would it be possible to see some gallente/caldari themed events at some point? they arguably have some of the nicest looking skins in game and would be nice to obtain.
thankyou ~ Fox |

The black screen is one of the worst ever (post beta) bugs, it makes it very difficult to get a good game as whilst you may not be affected half you team might be, only to quit the game
And with a matchmaking that doesn't fill matches back up this gets old quickly

Be patient you say....patience has never been my strong suit, then again, I have been very patient with the complacency fluttering around the forums lately. So yes, i am still patient, salty but patient. |

I see a lot of "most likely" in that post when we have no reason to believe anything is happening.
I don't give a crap about a stupid event right now...I want to be able to play the Fing game the way its meant to be played.... |

Archduke has already stated that the DEVs are fully aware of the 'black screen' glitch and the DEVs are actively working on resolving the issue. |

Kudos, Goldie. I've played Dust 514 steadily but patiently since the release date.
For a free game?GǪ
For a game that's so free, I can play it for 2 years if I want with full features unlocked, while the Eve-Online players only get theirs free WITH LIMITATIONS on 70% of the character career optionsGǪ
For a game that's so boldly anti-establishment, that the fps-collectors said it would die in 6 monthsGǪ
For a game that started with ZERO trading, and now has surpassed what even the EVE Capsuleers can do with player-to-player exchangesGǪ
For a game that used to make every player feel like she was too much rubbish to ever get skilled at THIS title--that held your attention and kept you coming back simply because it kept kicking you to the curb, humiliating you with laughter, and then undoing it's pants and tinkling on you while you lay on the ground like Charlie BrownGǪ
GǪThis game has come a long Odyssus journey, and was a lot of rare fun for me. It is finally worthy of the full name, Eve-DUST 514. Bum holes in a map, and glitch screens are easy for me to tolerate.
Not being sarcastic, but being wholly serious, I often wish a glitch would come up that restore the harshness and uphill difficulty of the original Dust versions. Back then, the nearly unsurvivable mercilessness of the game's design pushed more head-shakers away (or maybe pushed them away in a shorter period of time), and left only the insanely stubborn of us to close our mouths, chew the sand, and fill most of the seats with comfortable longterm gladiators.
Now that the game is "softer" (BELIEVE me, you're playing a much powdered and diapered version of Dust right now), the type of player who would have and stinky-up the place with more complaints than the folks who sit in first-class on the airplanes.
I'll continue to fly Coach. So pass me another room-temperature can of Quafe, Goldie. The best may be yet to come.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

Generally I really like what you have to say and you have helped in answering some of my noobish questions but I do not agree with this whatsoever besides the fact that this game is completely unique and awesome when working properly.
I'm really tired of hearing the classic "back in my day..." speech from everyone who has played for a while. Guess what!? The game is SUPPOSED TO get better with time, that's why there are updates and patches and hotfixes etc. The game was much harsher 2 years ago? Well there weren't people with 100 mill SP more than you two years ago with 4 years experience playing either so it SHOULD have been harsher. And when the game gets worse such as consistent blackscreen in half the games there is a problem. I don't think its very difficult to see or draw the conclusion that something with the hotfix foxfour created this issue. SO undue it and fix it before adding a stupid unnecessary event to try and draw people back in. The way things are now it will have the REVERSE effect. People will not want to play more, they will see the game is worse and quit.
Just because a game is "free to play" does not mean the people who play and actually pay do not have a right to complain when they are not getting what is promised or expected. When things are setup such as this forum and the CPM to get player input it is expected that it will be heard, otherwise, why have it? If CCP just said "this is the game, deal with it," people would accept and deal with it and have the right to choose to play it as it is or not and the game will die. The fact that we have a platform to be heard gives us every right to complain when things are not perfect. Granted, most complaints regarding nerfs and buffs to specific parts of the game are ridiculous and will never end. Someone will always be unhappy with this suit or that weapon. But when there are things that affect EVERYONE something needs to be done. Not only for the people playing but for the future of the game as a whole and to the benefit of the developers as well. |
