Im not going to go into a long why i think this needs to happen rant except as this is beta and not a full released free game. Below are some of the fixes i think could improve game play.
1. Shotguns dont seem to have the "stopping" power mentioned and in combat are pretty much ineffective against large units.
2. Scrambler pistols work well if your a.close range.b.incredibly lucky and c.the guy has no armor.
3. Assault rifles pretty much rock but there range at the end levels gets a bit excessive almost sniper rifle like on the automatic variants, also advanced rifles tear through light armor in one shot, not fair but meh perhaps a rpg style of hit detection on the body is needed, headshots, chest shots kill but everything else is survivable with a limp.
4. Sniper rifles nice aspect to the game but only high skills can use them well. Perhaps giving the Suit an option to lay down would help snipers accuracy versus a lot lower defense being stationary?
5. Swarm Missile launchers, great for damaging the MCC, was this intended? they do similar damage to a Large missile launcher on it. Also when firing a swarm unless your in the middle of a large open space expect your missiles to self destruct as they do a 360 spin when launched and hit terrain or cliff. (v annoying by the way)
6. Forge guns i dont have much to say about these except omg overpowered much? a high level forge gunner can pretty much level anyone who comes to close in one shot, plus any vehicle that accdiently strays into my path tend to catch fire and go bang due to the forge cannon its a great way to score +150 points with multiple damage notifications (was this intended?). if i hear one of these guys on weapon spin up i just run away its easier to deal with, what with all the high lag on these test servers.
7. Grenades nice but pretty useless you get hit 1 in 100 by them you get taken out.. they need to be more.. thrower friendly.
8. Dropsuits look like they need further work, modules are slow sometimes laggy to fit into them, the racial ones look the business perhaps we can see more of them on test i like the extra cpu / pg they have in them.
9. Turrets in game dont do a lot, super powerful frigate stopping large rail guns even when aimed well at a large armor or vehicle dont really hurt much, even the blaster unless you run directly at them dont do a lot of damage, turrets seem to be a wasted venture.
10. Vehicles turn the tide of a battle but seeing flying ones just makes my little biosuit want to go find a corner and cry, i personally think flying vehicles need to be removed. Plus the vanish into my poor PS3 Layer of depth making shooting them pointless. By the time i have missile lock they are beyond my line of sight.. perhaps speed up the swarm launchers on moving targets by using prediction targetting?
11. [Bug] Towards the end of the Mission on the Craterlake communication maps i see the MCC deep into its armor/structure and about to go bang, then all of a sudden i see it with a full shield, the shield is taking damage but so is the armor/structure was this intended or is it just a graphical bug that happens once in a blue moon? ok i havent anymore to add, however my previous post about putting a bug reporting feature in game really is a must.
