So far, i love everything about the merc quarters, except one thing.
I WANT TO SIT ON THE SOFA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously though, it would be nice if in later versions of the beta we could invite our friends into our merc quarters and join battles that way.
I also really... really want to sit on that sofa. Looks really comftorable. |

how do you expect to sit on it if you can't walk backwards? you could kneel forward on it I guess... probably wouldn't be so comfortable. |

You can walk backwards if you do it sideways. There is an actual backward walking animation implemented.
Makes the whole situation that much more ********. |

In EVE we can put video files on our computer on the screen. I want this in DUST 514!
I would sit in my merc quarters and rewatch all of Game of Thrones in there. if it included the sound... |

As it is the MERC quarters are interesting, and all but useless. I mean, sure I like being able to walk around, even if I have to do some rather odd things to get around, but its a nice touch. But over all, they are under used, maybe we could get expansion packs for them to make them more then one room, add items that give it a personal touch and be able to invite our fellow corp and MERC buddies over to join us in the foray into battle. Also a greater level of inter activeness with the general environment would be nice as well.
Also why do why have to go back there after every battle? why can't we be brought back to the battle barge and do all our shopping and character editing there? would it be so hard to add some interactive consoles to the barge while we wait for the next battle to begin? Also are we going to be seeing different quarters for each of the factions (Amarr, Caldari, Galente, and Minmatar), or perhaps corp themed ones ? |

Being able to sit , having emotes and invite friends in your quarters before you all get fitting and join same squad , oh and windows to space please , show us a stargate or a planet or better yet one of those BIG TV screens that are in EVE near gates but showing leader boards or all the above , i feel like in a high tech prison cell lol. |

I think it would be cool if that when you started a clan and when you have met a certain number of players within the clan there should be an option to switch from merc quarters to clan quarters which all the people in your clan can use. A benefit from this is you would be able to discuss battle plans, able to talk a squad mate through the fitting screen so he could maximize his fitting to best suit the battle ahead. Personally I think it would make the game much more memorable as you were sharing the experience with your friends. |

love the idea of staying on the battle barge, also i really wanna both walk backwards and sit on the sofa... the game isnt being hurt by not having theese things buy it sure would make it beter |

CCP have already made mention of a trophy room in which you could "show off your stuff." This tells me they plan on having the ability to invite people to your MQ. They also intend on adding more socializing elements to the game. As with EVE we are currently restricted to just our private quarters. However EVE will be getting the ability to leave your quarters and walk around the space station, interacting with other players. I imagine the same will be for Dust.
Looking at the layout when you first enter, there is a door behind you, and a door to your left. I'd wager all of my beta ISK that the door to the left will be the trophy room, and the other being the front door leading out into the station or warbarge, whichever holds your MQ.
Theres a video somewhere from the fanfest where they menton never having to fight, Dust can be something people use o socialize if they wish. |

I would love all of the above. A visualisation of the squad menu when game invites are sent to friends would definitely add immersion to the pre-battle organisation. They've done it with the War Barge, surely it can't be such a stretch to have a squad equivalent before searching for a game to join or getting into a corp match.
I'll add to that some kind of screen or even better, a holo round-table like the map on the War Barge, that allows the group to view each other's assets and load-outs for the upcoming battles. The squad leader can better identify holes in his team that need plugging and generally co-ordinate things more effectively than listening to a torrent of VOIP chatter. |
