15% recovery time per level, allowing the player to fight back sooner when dropping in on the enemy. |

I find the dampener too slow and gives away your position easily. As a Sentinel, I usually just tank the fall so I can recover faster.

Probably, but 15% would cut the recovery time from about 4 seconds to about 1 at level 5, where 10% would only cut it in half.
Maybe 10%, with a 5 to 10% bonus on a suit role designed for gate/party crashing... IMHO Drop Ships would then finally work great as high altitude spawn points... |

Sounds like assault/commando kind of ODST bonus, and set the recovery time based on suit type (heavy/med/small), like Move Speed.

Why not just build it into the suits? Heavies have the current recovery time, mediums are faster, and lights recover the fastest.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

I wish the dampener was a little more quiet. That thing is loud to the point where there's no point trying to be stealthy. There are times where I was able to drop directly behind someone and they wouldn't notice because I cloaked and used the dampener the EXACT INSTANT before I touched the ground. But the recovery time is kinda long. Sometimes when you're running from a firefight and you hit the dampener after you jump the long delay to get up gets you killed.

A stealth inertial dampener module to be added to perhaps the equipment slot? The player is cloaked and nearly silent, with a minimal flare upon landing, but only cloaked until they move. |
