Personally I'm not a fan as there's no more omni soldier action, plus the lack of supply depot clusterfucks hasn't really helped with lag
But what do the logis think?
And are there any plans to get rid of the max deployed limit on individual equipment?

I like it because it came with more carried items.
As a logi it means you can move with the flow of a battle and still have equipment to provide.
It hurt domination logis that would change suits and put out 20 different types of links and hives, but in my opinion that was a little cheesy to begin with.
Seriously, port it.

Ever since the Bandwidth update, equipment spam is now pretty much non-existent in pubs, so that automatically makes the game better.
Though I must say that if Bandwidth was normalized across tiers, it'd be quite nice.

I was thinking about this the other day and came to the conclusion that it worked out well except heavies should have enough bandwidth for 1 uplink.
The lack of deployed equipment only makes stomps more likely to be stomps so allowing a player to be able to add a touch of benefit to the team and still run what they want to run would be a winner in my book.
Note:
I do mean ONLY 1 link for heavies as I do see how OP allowing someone to spam a little equipment and still go heavy can be. If that equals up to a couple of nanohives then that's fine as those things barely last anyway. |

Went full time Uplink amlogi after the change and the buff to held equipment makes it awesome. I would sell every suit I own but the amlogi... if I didn't like derping around with a lazer rifle every now and then.

agreeing with you... 90% of the time I'm running a proto suit is to keep my links out while I go pop a tank ect. |

There is less uplink spam, which was the point, so Im fine with it.
Even if you do want uplink spam it now takes team effort to really get it out there. |

I would agree with this, but if you are in a situation where one dude losing his links means no uplinks it's probably a lost cause anyway.

"Omni-soldier action" was one of the reasons bandwidth was deployed, and I am happy for it. No more part time logis deploying armor repair hives to stand on as HMG sentinels. No more dropping a dozen uplinks everywhere then switching to a slayer suit.
If you want to be a deployable equipment logi then you dedicate yourself to that role.
This change having the potential to reduce lag was just icing on the cake.

I can appreciate it gives logis more of a role, i just find it annoying I can't switch to a heavy or a scout without destroying my links
Maybe if they bumped everyone up 4 BW it would at least give me the option

We've all spawned into matches that were halfway to our side being redlined and not an uplink in sight. Most of us know from experience that one merc can at least turn that situation into a fight instead of a rout, but to some extent they're going to be forced to play the omni-soldier if they want to make a difference.
I'd like to see some degree of bandwidth normalization and heavies with enough bandwidth to run one uplink.

The only scenario I can think of where it is even necessary for a heavy to have an uplink would be a FGer in an elevated position.
I like the fact that taking out that FGer means he'll have to get a dropship and get himself back up there. Camping should have some downside.

Having the APEX suits (proto level, including Bandwidth...) around has really made the limitations of lower lever suits pretty much inconsequental.
The biggest part of the bandwidth is that I and other semi-logis REALLY have to thing what suit to spawn in next.
Second biggest is the fact that now wanting to forge snipe on top of the tower, you have to beg someone else to give you hive there. That is a good change, honestly. Anything which promotes teamwork is good.

If you roll with me in a squad always expect uplinks. If you need ammo just ask. That what the bandwith thing is for. For teamwork. And for me to profit off of you. At least you get spawns and ammo out of it.

Erm that was kind of the whole point. There was a big plague of slayers running logi, dropping a , metric ton of hives to make themselves nigh invulnerable, and just camping a spot. There is no point in logistics specialized suits if you can just swap to a kill oriented suit right after and everything stays up. |

I understand the point of bandwidth, I'm asking if it's improved the game
Given that teamwork is actively being discouraged in pubs, are the limitations put on individual players worth it?
And, whilst not entirely caused by it, there is a fair amount of people who just leave game if the last link in the city is popped
