That is actually one of the few cures for what ails this game. Subscriptions remove the free to play model and incentivize fixing match maker and add developers. It also means less laggy connections from third world countries....and free to play moochers who have yet to support the game they play every day. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a CCP fan, but they do deserve to be paid for what we use.
Subscription is something I would definitely be in favor of. |

I would like to see a system similar to DCUO. Parts of the game are free and you can either buy parts of the rest piecemeal or pay sub for everything. Sub would come with monthly aurum. Things they could monetize could be modes (dom snicker) or access to proto gear etc. Would be very tough sell now, you can't take back what you've given for free easily.

Pay to Play I disagree with since they couldn't deliver us the product they advertised, but pay for additional benefits, and deals I could see doing good. What they need to do is advertise dust or it's next generation equivalent all over eve and vise versa. So both player bases could feed off of each other. Plus that's basically free advertisement.. Also increasing the interaction between the two games could make the FPS more important to the eve players, who would be willing to hire corps for contracts. which would add incentives for players to play both games therefore making CCP super rich. $$$$$$$$ <---- had to throw that in there , only way they will read this post lol

Even if it goes into Pay to Play, so what? I would welcome that if it means getting Dust ported over to a better platform than the PS3.
Also, this use to be an old idea that CCP once considered in the past before they settled with free to play. In fact, the mere thought of Dust going into free to play back in the early days saw a lot of players hating the idea of free to play because it meant "microtransactions" which is considered a curse word even today in the gaming industry.

We would lose a large majority of the player base and the few new players that stay/come. If DUST was completed or on next gen a would totally support a subscription type model. But now... Adding a subscription model to play will shrink our player base even more. If we can't increase while it is free, how do we expect a pay to play model will do it. Then again, I want DUST to die so I can stop playing it.

I will say that if they made Dust just like Eve when it comes to pay on PC or PS4 I would be one of the first in line credit card in hand as I firmly believe that Eve is the greatest payment model anyone has ever come up with. |

I've batted around an idea that when dust moves to PC, they could tie in bonus content for playersl who have EVE subs.
stuff liek slightly quicker SP gain, few consumables and a small amount of aur.
ESO does a similar offer where you can play for free but if you move to a monthly sub you get some stuff chucked in

Sure I would pay a sub. If the game had the content of other subscription based games like wow or ff reborn. However the game is a fps with the depth of a shallow puddle. Part from the fittings which is pretty cool at the combinations you can get at.
So no I would not pay a ******* subscription for what we have right now.

That was what they were alluding to at FF 2014. Being able to play all three games with a single character was hinted at.
I think CCP has tried to remove that event from their conscience.

Honestly I think dust should be B2P not pay to play, people who play shooters tend to move away from monthly subscriptions. If anything make it a B2P/F2P with a subscriber benefit, extra rewards, cosmetics (get aur every month and maybe a booster for your sub) but have f2p players have access to everything else.
Also tie the sub to eve, if you sub to eve you get dust sub at the same time for free (would encourage more eve skyjocks to play with us if it moved to a more recent console/pc) |
