I'm pretty sure most of the balancing in Dust is done around PRO and OFC gear.
Stat modifiers are killing new player retention.

It ain't trash.
You can spam shots as per usual (just have to be more careful).
For charge... well, when I did it, I got two fully charged shots off no problem, and the third fully charge one overheated. Definitely worse for wear if you like using the charge shots like, say, a DMR.
I won't be using it much, as I was more a fan of shooting charge shot after charge shot than spamy McSpamfacing the trigger.

I still love the Vanilla ScR...it still remains the Perfect Service Rifle, albeit a bit harder to use now than before.
Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.

Only thing that may need direct adjustatments maybe the kick, should be reduced to 2x or 3x. Right now it is pretty hard to use at range against other long range weapons. The kick plus the scoop zoom pushes the weapon to mid range fighting instead of long range.

Its pretty bad now, sadly....
You can't even charge shot and then follow up to kill the standard gall assault before it over heats now. That's with 2 complex mods on it. The Opus went from decent to trash. I was looking forward to seeing the gun nerfed, but even as a mostly Cal player its a bit much. When I run my Am assault it overheats way too soon now, and I can't even imagine what it does on a another suit. One or two more shots is what it needs. |

Thread isn't about those. That weapon is just like every other assault rifle, but with heat and gold. Nothing unique about it.
Anywho, yeah. Have you used it? If so, what do you think about it?

Try it for yourself but preferably on the Amarr Assault. Honestly I'm getting tired of this sh*t, making a weapon so bad you can only use it on one suit. The disease is spreading it has reached the Galante Assault and soon the other two will follow.

I did use it... On an Amarr assault at level 3. I kept having trouble overheating. If you're going to use the main feature which is the charge, most of your kills are going to get away, and you can't use it in an engagement because
It doesn't charge very quickly, so using it as a last resort would be null.

You definitely can not follow up with charge shots any more. Spam until it pops is your only option if you start with a full charge shot.
If they would add a cool down bonus to the amarr commando of like 2% per level it would at least be useful on more than 1 suit.
Outside of the Amarr assault and commando I feel like it is total trash as I predicted. Not in the fact that it is unusable but that charge shots are unusable against anything besides scouts.
The only voice for a port is the voice of reason from money drying up.
More skins and 1% damage to keep Dust on PS3.

I have Amr assault 5 and I think 1 can't spam shots as much. Like 2-3 less. 2 the cooldown feels like it takes longer. And I always used my opus w/ Templar scr. I don't use it because reasons. I am using the templar scrambler pistol though. It works very well

Yeah I'm gonna update my Laser Weaponry thread concerning the ScR, at first I didn't notice the changes much but now I'm seeing simply to many potential engagements escaping along with what would be kills becoming my death. Gonna have to test it out on non-Amarr suits.

I can say it is very balanced , overheating when it is supposed to be , especially after to many spammed shots that followed a charge.

Am I the only one who is disgusted at the fact that in the same hotfix that makes shield tanking as good as if not blatantly better then armor tanking the only viable counter to shields gets nerfed into the f*cking ground? GG shield whiners, GG...

I did a game or two with it yesterday (2 cmplx dmg mod, 1 krin, prof 5 ScR, amAssault 5), and the only thing you're able to kill if you use a charge shot followed by ~5 shots are light suits or mlt/std ones.
It overheats way too fast if you charge shot, and you lose all your DPS.
As someone else said, it's just a TAC AR with a bit more range but it'll blow up in your fa.ce if you're not careful with it..
TLDR : don't use charged shots :(

My only gripe with the ScR was the fact that it was balanced around the Amarr assault. So on an a suit like say the amarr commando, the charge is pretty much unusable at range.
I am curious though as to which is more reliable, scr on the amarr assault or the tac on gal assault
