Breach Shotfun and Ion Pistol: The two most r+¬tarded weapons in the game. When used together they actually work pretty well.
What you do is if the first or so shot of the shotgun doesn't kill then switch to the pistol and finish them off. If the target is out of range then hit it with the pistol as you draw in for the kill with the shotgun. Naturally dampeners, plates and myofibs are your best friends. I'm not sure how well this would work with assaults but it works with scouts.
Ion Pistol is better than the SMG here because of the higher dps and the high ionic damage lets you kill enemies that still have their shields. The Magsex has a charge-up which makes it unsuitable as a sidearm.
Obviously this setup has zero long range ability, but at least now you bloody pagans have a use for these wretched inventions of yours.

True, but that is a 0.1 second in adition to the switch-out time. In CQB you can get your crap pushed in VERY quickly.
If you can make that setup work then great, but I'd feel more comfortable with a tactical hairdryer. Plus the dps is still lower, isn't it?

Speaking of what the Ion Pistol looks like, I just realised something:
Having the cyclotrons just at the muzzle gives no space for accelerators, so the bolt must be projected purely via centrifugal force or something. From an engineering standpoint it would be better to put the cyclotrons closer to the handle.
However, that would have made the gun look like a flaccid dong, so instead CCP decided to put them on the front.

I pretty much do just this with my quafe shotgun and templar scrambler pistol.
The only voice for a port is the voice of reason from money drying up.
More skins and 1% damage to keep Dust on PS3.
