I can't remember where it is off the top of my head, but I saw a thread a while back showing off some of the glitches of the game. One of them is a glitch where you can turn your weapon invisible or make it look like something else entirely. The glitched weapon for the video, if I recall correctly, was an assault combat rifle that got turned into either a mass driver, swarm launcher, or plasma cannon. I can't remember which, just know it was something that went boom. Some of the glitches in the video are still around, some not. I know the double shot glitch is still around and would make shotguns a nightmare if more people knew about it.
This guy probably, either accidentally or on purpose, used the glitch and now their assault rail rifle is an ion pistol.
It's happened once or twice someone couldn't pay the price, and I'm afraid I had to rake 'em 'cross the coals.

Yeah, was just a glitched SL-4 like it said in the death screen. You can see it hit your shields for 38 damage which is right on the button for a Krins or advanced damage modded SL-4.
As for the speed, it's an untanked Calamari scout. It's going to strafe like a mad man, it's what they do.
If it were a Bolt Pistol like it sounded like, you'd have been far more borked.

The glitch is a visual thing where your weapon looks like another weapon but still fires like the original weapon you glitched. I'm not sure if there's any advantages beyond being misleading, but I never tried it or know how to do it.

I've run into this and I'm positive. MOST positive they are gaining am advantage. Guy who will remain anon, was using knives from a distance but still connecting hits on me but know ll feed said it was an ishukone RR. I had this SCOUT DOWN TO 25 PERCENT ARMOR and as soon as he turns the corner he downed me an assualt with full health. This was about lil over a week ago.
Just sharing my story.
I'm sure it's registering the damage with the actual weapon on hand. Not the weapon in kill feed.
