Would it be possible to make a injector that you can stab enemies with, once they are stabbed you can then spawn into their body from the spawn in screen.
Effectively taking over their body and their suit.
Just wondering if it's possible.

Ah but it's not about what they do. Imagine infecting another close with a special nanite weapon then when that player least expects it terminating your clone, and theirs, and assuming control of their body to attack the enemy from behind.
NOW THAT IS SCI FI NEW EDEN ****!

So effectively hacking into their spawn feed?
Wow what a batpoop crazy idea
I love it
It's needs some guidelines...
It this so you can spawn on an enemy CRU or uplink?
Are you simply stealing their gear?
Do you trade bodies? Meaning you actually lose a clone too so you can respawn in enemy territory and the fallen enemy is then allowed to spawn wherever?
This could be cool fro a specific map or game mode |

Ideally you'd kill them and directly upload your characters mind into their body assuming their fit and weapons.

You don't get to keep the stuff.
Perhaps instead you simply force them out of their body for a few seconds. Use that in FW and PC and you have back stabbing and neural hacking.

I'm thinking more on the lines is that person's body becomes a mobile spawn point.
You or some one else spawning into the match uses his body as a mobile CRU. Instead of wasting a clone or equipment you just steal his body and his mind gets pushed back to the battle server.

Imagine going to hack an objective, only to have your body hijacked.
Two questions ;
1: If a hijacked Clone dies, who registers the death; the body or the mind?
2: Would FF in FW be applicable to this or not? I can just imagine someone jabbing a tanker as he calls in a vehicle, hijacking the body later on and the driving the tank into the readline, just to be a troll. Same with Snipers and Officer users, just to cost/troll them.

The kill is registered when the clone mind is pushed from the body back to the battle server. So at the moment you or a team mate spawns into that body the kill is registered and death is recorded.

As far as team mates go, the moment you inject a team mate he wll be killed because the clone will already be connected to the network it's attempting to connect. A team punish will be registered and the player will have the ability to register a second punish on the death screen.

Some one asked me about skills and stealing bodies.. Because you are hi-jacking the clone it still has all the muscle memory and skills from the person's body you took. So if they have crappy reload skills you get that as well. Your battle knowledge won't transfer unless you hit a supply depot and refit.

Muscle memory is built up in the brain, despite the wording. This is why your consciousness can jump from clone to clone and they all have your skills. You didn't bring them, you didn't pay for them, the clones are generic bodies supplied by the contract writer. So you would retain all of your skills, which could render an opponents equipment useless in your hands. Perhaps you could only spawn into it if you have the skills to use it. This would encourage diversified skill sets and make it balanced to use. I assume there would be a time limit on how long you can upload into them..
As for who loses a clone: that sad consciousness you evicted when he checks out another clone to respawn. It just wouldnt cost your team a clone when you spawn this way. So using it to troll is pointless, as then youd have to use a clone to spawn again without the uplink. The injector guy would get a special type of kill bonus for opening that window.
I assume higher tuners would take less time to inject and last longer. Or being new tech it wouldn't have tiers yet..

I'm thinking this would be a officer injector. Yet, unless a dev can confirm this could work in the current game without much coding we are all just talking about a game we like.
Also, unlike other injectors it would only have a few uplink chips you could inject. I'm thinking maybe at most 3 injections.

I covered that. The injected gets a death on being shunted, the invader gets a death on dying.

There is so much lore that will argue this is not plausible.
I don't think you lot realize what the needle does, it doesn't bring you back to life, it floods your system with nanites that will keep your body running for just a little long, but it damages your brain and in addition to the radiation this body received just from spawning in you won't live long after the match is over (if this body survives till the end).
a needle is not putting your brain back in your body. a needle is not bringing you back to life. a terminated clone immediately begins to "decay" a clone's neural implant fries the brain when the clone dies, making the body useless. a still functioning clone has encryption to protect themselves from being hacked (and if they didn't, there'd be no point to fighting, just hack the other team from orbit.)
I won't deny the idea is cool. it just doesn't fit in Dust.
you can try to make the argument for Sansha nanites, but I'm fairly certain that is against CONCORD conventions, and would not be available to DUST mercs. |

All this would do is create a hole in the neural uplink encryption, allowing someone else to take over the clone

Our clones are not just remote controlled toys. When your mind gets uploaded into your clone, your brain is imprinted. There are many examples (in and out of New Eden) of terrible things happening when you try to force one brain into another. Even true slaves are only under such mind control because of the extensive implants and cybernetics forcefully put into them. |
