Let's say that I opened up a Kickstarter in about a week to raise funds for Dust514, and then give it over to Rattati so he can say, "Hey, look at the x1000s of dollars these players want to commit to a port, can I start one? (No I'm actually going to, but you get the idea).
Let's say CCP was thinking of a port, but they wanted to get as much money out the PS3 as they could.
Well, until that day, I'm going to start making some posts as to what features we want in the PS4/PC Dust514 2.0. CCP feel free to take or ignore, but I'm hoping the player feedback in these threads will show you we are quite serious.
All trolls who just want Dust to die, please go elsewhere. These are real issues that I want brought up, as well as constructive criticism.
QUESTION 1: What are your thoughts on Asset transfer?
Full?
None at all?
Extremely special skins that aren't tradeable?
A Fraction of your SP?

Look at old footage of how the original vision of what Dust could have been and build from there.
Ie: No myo super jump spam Vehicles can exist outside the red line Vehicles have a purpose and wouldn't have sidearm do 2000 damage per clip Forums will only be used to fix broken mechanics and CCP will stay true to their vision instead of bending to the will of the vocal masses that don't even play. Sp total transfer and isk transfer, or sp isk gains multiplier based on sp total 8n dust. Better dust - eve integration More emphasis on balance, optimization and fixes with less focus on useless new content. Pve Prioritize increased quality of hit detection and reduction of lag. Buy better servers. |

Personally, I am of the opinion that the SP we earned be given to us in the form of boosters (7 day) (Btw: Make boosters per battle instead of time). That way players can grind back their SP faster than those who don't want to, but it won't be an automatically discrepancy between vets and newer players.
BPOs are allowed to carry over All weapons people have stockpiled and isk is added up, and then evenly distributed to all the players in the game. Use activity to gauge whether it's an actual character, I really don't want to use Loyalty Rank unless it's the only thing we come up with.

New EVE-Launcher entering Beta soon will allow you to add accounts to the launcher in case the dust playerbase isnt aware of that.
If Dust 2.0 is not part of the EVE client as I have wished and suggested I would like to add my characters to the launcher and transfer everything they own, thankyou for asking CCP ;).
If Dust 2.0 is actually part of the EVE client I would like my Purchased Skills and total SP, Aurum, Isk and ALL items adding to the EVE redeeming system and to be able to add them to one of my eve characters so that they can carry on the good work that I and my main have started in DUST 1.0 (again thank you for asking).
Anyone getting annoyed by reading of the above post should consider the following.
I don't care so neither should you :)

-Myro jumping is indeed annoying, I'd rather have a seperate module which allows for higher jumping( The added mobility is cool), but exponentially depletes the reserves of stamina you have. That way you have to stack Cardiac Regs, and further reducing your HP
-What do you mean by vehicles existing out the redline? Do you mean not being relegated to redline tanks because of AV or?
-I agree with the purpose piece. I would have that Vehicles can destroy the Null Cannons. Logis rep tools can rep ones that are already alive, but it requires post Lvl 5 skills to rebuild one). This requires you to defend your logis from attackers, have AV, etc.

Not an alt of anyone at CCP haha. Trust me if I was Hilmar, this game would have gone to PS4 at Fanfest, and already been ported. I'm just a 17.6 year old merc who loves this game and wants to be able to play it on something is literally barring us from making any meaningful changes.

Full Character transfer combined with the following mechanic:
* Kill a merc with more SP than you, receive a small bonus to EOM SP earnings. * Kill a merc with substantially more SP than you, receive a substantial bonus to EOM SP earnings. * Kill a merc in higher meta gear than yours, receive a small Isk bonus EOM. * Kill a merc in substantially higher meta gear than yours, receive a substantial Isk bonus EOM.
Vets are happy. Newbros are happy.

But how do you kill someone who can insta melt you? Honestly how often do you get killed by a new player you think?

I would like to start again, if we let people transfer progress over we have the same unbalanced game we have today and all the problems which come with it.
The polygon count is ludicrously low, hit-boxes drawn around structures are literally boxes, you blue-flare on objective structures all the time.
Much better servers
Solid hit detection, properly drawn hit-boxes for mercs.
if it's on PC then the sky is the limit you don't have to take anything out.

I would say because it's a new game
you spend your money on one game, you upgrade on that
then when you play an entirely different game, you start again.
would you really think new players would want to play a game which has just started yet everyone is at their endgame and has all equipment unlocked from the very moment the game is available for play?

It doesn't happen very often, which is why we can be liberal with their rewards.
Newbros who are learning the ropes will still pewpew in the Low Mu queue, separate from the hardhitting vets with instamelt gear. But newbros who consistently perform well in the Low Mu queue will bounce back and forth between Low and High Mu queues. These talented newbros will no doubt get crushed in the High Mu matches, but the beatdown sessions will be huge opportunities to generate SP and ISK. Ultimately, talented newbros who put forth effort when up against tough odds will build out their skilltrees faster. The more these players feel like they're making progress, the more likely they'll be to stick it out and stick with DUST.
Bagging a whale should pay big, right? This is the only way I can think of for 0M SP players to coexist with 100M SP players. If "accelerated progression" of some kind isn't an option, the game would probably be better off without (or with partial) character transfers. |

if however it's something different, ie LEGION on PS4 and PC then there's actually a point iin doing it
DUST 514 is hard to get into, it does not have an appealing name, there is no advertisement.
i only write my suggestions based on a NEW game with a NEW name, there is no point in spending money putting DUST onto another system named DUST 514 there really isn't.
it will stay as a hardly played niche game with a hardcore audience, player numbers will dwindle, we will be right back where we started and CCP would wonder why the spent the money. expect they won't, because they won't do it, because it's stupid
UNLESS
it has a different name, a meaningful connection to EVE, a system with no limits, a familiar developmental system

No its asset reset time. The game can never be ported and grow with our assets and SP in place. Its myopic greed to think its possible. Look at the NPE now and you will understand we can't keep our ISK and SP or the game will just die on whatever platform its moved to. CCP made a lot of mistakes with PC and way too much money has been released into the game, and the only way to fix that is with a reset. We vets get the fond memories of playing a "game". They don't owe us anything for entertaining ourselves. This is not a job or obligation on their part. They made a game, we played it. So, they make a new game or port it and guess what...we play it.

Right now the NPE is ******. You have partial squads of stompers in every match out of academy in full on proto or better. They are going 25+ kills with 0 deaths in many matches, so no one is getting any reward for killing them and they are slowing down the SP gains of the new players. They are soaking up all the WPs and hence the SP and ISK for the match. Those guys that get bounced into the high MU struggle to get the 150 war points to get SP, and are not advancing more rapidly. They are stunted and frustrated. The way to have the game grow is RESET. I like my millions of SP, but the truth is we milked this game for about all its got and its time to either reboot or let it die at the slow rate it is. You are basically saying you don't want to start over, then why would a new person want to start at all with 100 mill SP vets in officer gear crushing them every other game. What's worse is the "talented" new players as you put it suffer the worst. They get to be number 12-16 on the leader boards every match in the high MU matches. So they increase SP at a turtle's pace. Great way to protect the status quo. You got an SP lead ...well no one will grind out long enough to catch you because they gain SP at 1/10 the rate they should by being placed in those matches. I love the concept of this game, but the truth is the wealth and SP gaps created by past mistakes have taken their toll on the game, when combined with the low number player base and worthless matchmaking the only real option is reset. Maybe they give us a skin or something as a thank you for beta testing, but assets that give us an actual advantage "in-game" would just reboot the broken environment we have now. |

Bpo, apex, skin and any aur purchase transfer. I think that's the only way to reset the farms and exploits this game has seen. I would, however, like some type of recognition for being a vet/beta tester of the game. Possibly in the form of an adv bpo suit or weapon that can only be received if you have maintained an active account.
It will sting a bit to lose all the sp and isk I've worked hard for, but if I was financially responsible enough to be "rich" once, I'll have no issues doing it again.
*using the term rich loosely b/c I have more than I could ever use up, but no where near the billions some have. |
