Who even sells the garbage unusable weapons you get from the strong boxes?
I personally don't because I don't like selling 47k isk worth weapons for like 7k.

You mean who sells them back to the market? I do.
I let that crap build up for 2 or 3 months and then I sell it back. I only run Gallente so all dropsuits and most weapons that are not Gallente are useless to me. |

I even sell the good stuff to the market. To h*ll with trying to trade with scammers. I've got no time for that. I just dont get the turn on with the ability to scam. Simply no need for it in a game. Either make trading happen or don't, anything in-between is cute to a five year old for about five seconds.
Oow, are you trying to make it gritty and realisitc? In reality there are countermeasures to scamming and methods of ligitimate trade. The only time you'd see the kind of trading in this game is for a street hoodlum drug deal and even then you've got two other guys with guns ready to shoot.

I've never sold anything back to the market and never will - keeping it all until we can recycle it into nanite goo, or the servers go down forever.
Right now figure it's 7:1 odds on the latter, because i'm an unrepentant optimist ;)

You are much better off using them on a either BPO suit, or the NEOs
Fit a NEO with all the strongbox modules, boom, a advanced (consumable) apex suit.
You can use them in a pub match and earn 150 -200k pure profit on average. Depending on how good you are they can last for a really long time.
Or you can sell to the marketplace and get a masive 10% return.

It's not worth the time it takes to sell it back to the market. I let my garbage salvage accumulate for over a year and then cashed it all in, and thought to myself, "Why did I just waste my time doing that?" The market rate is too low to make it worth my while. Selling items back to the market is busy work, not a fun part of the game, and not rewarding. |

Why?
When I want to edit or create a new fit, it not only takes ages to load all the crap but I also have to go through 30 items just to find the one I want.

I have jara so I sell that crap constantly. All the random loot makes for an extra 5-10m a week. (Boxes, fw salvage, etc)

I'm the same way. I'm also a little bit of a hoarder as well...
But if you have free Aurum weapons given to you from Strongboxes, why not save them for a rainy day? And when that rainy day comes, it will come in the form of ISK raining down on your head?
I vote for saving them up. (But I can understand the people who sell them off right away to get that ISK back immediately.)

Yes, I discovered this the hard way recently. But I still don't sell it because I don't know if I might want to use it in the future. Perhaps when I get to the point of knowing for sure whether I will or not, that will be the time for it, but not right now. |

I wrestled with this for awhile, finally went through and sold all std/adv/aur gear I would never use. Kept the proto aur items for officer suits since you cannot accidentally restock them. In all I got well over 60mil from 2-3 years worth of hoarding. Would have been more if I used the trader, but i wanted to see if it helped with lag. I was surprised to find it eliminated the loading circle almost entirely when setting up fits or going through my stash. I plan to keep up on it because I don't want to wait on load circles to adjust my fits

Sometimes you have to restock mid battle and if you're not careful you will spend your aurum by mistake on items you would never of spent aurum on originally

Burn it up on your apex in fw. If you win you get reimbursed for 40% of what you lose. This is the same as selling it for 200% as normal and you get to use it. If you lose its the same as selling it, but you still get to use it.
Several free games later you can sell your LP for a net of 30-35m to a respectable vendor. Most PC corps dont pay that well.
