What kind of weapon would you propose, and how would you slot it in with other stuff to keep everything balanced??
The only things I can really think of are maybe a handheld heavy version of a multi-shot missile launcher, a.k.a. Big Flaylock, or a high damage, heavier but less controllable version of the Laser Rifle... |

I would love to see a large version of the mass driver, you know one that actually kills people unlike now where you can put a full clip into a lot of assault and heavy suites and their still alive. Call in the mortar and make them have to plant it down to fire or something. Unable to move while firing would be a great draw back and one I could live with given how slow heavy's are to begin with.

Personally? I think that if the MD and PLC had a lovechild, and we made it a heavy weapon (call it the Plasma MORTAR), then that would be pretty chill.

TBH, given how slow heavies are to begin with, I doubt that we'd need to make it a deployable weapon. Additionally, deployable weapons would fall under small turret installations.
I hear that they used to exist in the murky depths of that epoch known as "THE CLOSED BETA", but I have yet to see evidence that decisively proves it.
Also, can we please get an indirect fire weapon for the HAV?

How would you envision such a thing working? I'm not entirely sure how it ought to handle, since the name suggests something on the order of "bigass Scrambler Rifle"... which would be pretty awesome, but how do we keep it from being OP and also keep it interesting?

I can think of a few:
Heavy Rail Rifle - functions like a sniper against vehicles with no movement allowed, charge up, over charge severely damages user
Tesla Cannon - electric damage, acts like repair gun, can over charge
Ordinance Driver - Beefier MD with large clip, limits movement speed by 90% and no jumping while firing
Plasma Blaster - HMG style plasma weapon, mid to long range can be more effective against vehicles or infantry depending on variant (shield or armor?), heats up, can severely damage user if over heated
Heavy Assault Shotgun - automatic, larger clip, limits movement X% while firing |
