First off, Locus Grenade. Those who use Core Locus will still use Core Locus. Players running lower tier suits will be able to toss actualy deadly grenade. Before nades beyond Core were useless. Blast Radius is more important really.
Secondly swarms. If you think you can shoot at a swarmer from 150m+ you are mistaken. Infantry is not always rendering at this distance. More importantly infantry is as tiny as a single pixel.

Yes blast radius is important, but what will stop a calogi from just spamming basic/milita locus nades to cover up for the splash??? The map I just played was perfect for a calogi to put a few hives and spam nades to deny entrance to the enemy. M
I mean, at first, I guess it won't be too much a problem, but when it is, everyone will start complaining.

If Cal logi grenade spam were an issue, we would be seeing it already with the core grenades. I'm sure very few exist, but I hardly see any cal logis spamming grenades.
Don't all grenades have the same amount of nanite cost or whatever it is to restock from hives? I haven't bothered looking at the spreadsheet.

I think the main issue is with the choice to balance the grenades around splash radius, which is fine, but then buffing damage for all tiers *up to* the core, which is high enough to OHK a lot of suits. The precedent that has already been set in past hotfixes for changes like this is to bring the PRO damage down a touch, and then bring the other tiers up to the new standardised level and then use other vectors to distinguish between the three; they did it with swarms and it worked really well.

If spamming Cores had been a vailable tactic, people would do this. Even without callogi you can carry up to 9 nanohives with good amount of nanites. You can spam Cores using every non heavy suit yet I hardly ever see anyone throwing more than one. It's just not profitable as current rifles have so much DPS, one Locus is enough to hurt/finish an enemy.

Grenades become exponentially more effective the more people use them in tandem with one another; two people shooting down a hallway will of course push out a lot of damage against the reds they are aiming at, but if they *both* lob grenades at the same time they can potentially wipe out an entire squad in one action. That's quite potent.
