What exactly is this bug? Not being able to sprint with a Uplink in your hands? Because I've never encountered this.

Its when you run with a link and drop it.
Running again, switching links etc
I run links 24/7 as a logi so the way to reset it is to, crouch and stand up.
Then you can run again. |

What you are experiencing is the infamous "Sprint Glitch". It's one of the oldest bugs in Dust. Drop Uplinks are not the only equipment that can be affected, it happens with Hives and Rep Tools as well. The only known way to fix it is to crouch briefly, then continue on your merry way.
If I had a nickel for every time I've experienced this, I would have a shitload of nickels.

As usual, Booby's correct :-) Find the faster I fumble gear, the more likely I'll get the Sprint Glitch. Not to say you should have to (it is BS) but if you slow down a bit when selecting/deploying EQ you'll be less likely to trigger the glitch.
Squat/jump frees you from the glitch, as does climbing a ladder. |
