Because those little missles can follow you for a insane distance. It's be nice if after 400m of travel distance from the launcher they would stop. Instead of the absurd distance they fly.
For real, how do they fit that much propellant into those tiny little rockets? Is this one of those ccp fails?

No wonder I was able to circle an entire map before they hit me.

I don't know what your smoking but they do run out of gas, and rather quickly at that. A bullet from a sniper riffle can be propelled farther than a rocket assisted missile to be honest and it's just sad. I see Drop ships and Lav's out run my swarms all the time, especially if the missiles AI goes screwy and it starts to circle the target and never hit it. It's perhaps the only good thing that came of the swarm launcher nerf a while ago. Having our lock on range nerfed to 175m sucked, but it made it harder for them to be out run since the range limit remained about the same (some where around 400-450m). Before if you locked on to something at max range they just had to take a nudge back and it would blow up in their face. Now it has some time to home.
As for tanks very few can out run a missile unless it's a shield fit with a turbo equipped. That said it's not to hard to duck behind cover. Even at 150m range or less if you see the missile fired you seem to have more than enough time to avoid getting hit due to how slow the missiles travel threw the air.
As for drop ships honestly if it's not a POS militia fit I don't see how it's a problem. There are many a time I unload all 3 proto missiles with 3 dmg modifiers equipped, 5% war barge dmg and maxed out Mim commando and the ADS is still alive and runs away. Coming back at full health in seconds after making some kind of loop around the battlefield. If it takes more than a full clip of the top (non officer) level weapon with full dmg mods and the best racial bonus's applied to swarms to take down a drop ships I'd hardly call them a problem. After all the current DS are just basic level things.
At some point, if dust last that long there should be advanced and proto DS after all.

Swarm launchers are manufactured by North Korea so I would ask them.
