I know a lot of people may disagree with this, but I could be pleasantly surprised.
We all know to use and train skills, you need to accumulate skill points so you are able to train up weaponry, gadgets etc. But do you think there should be some sort of timer like EVE online where skills will train minutely, hourly and/or daily?
The only reason I propose this is because eventually, once people have accumulated so many skill points, they'll fly through the skills in no time resulting in being able to acquire all the best items in the game, within a short(ish) period of time (compared to if it was timed).
For people who don't know what I'm talking about, here's an example
TRAIN - Assault Rifle OPERATION lv 1 -- 15 minutes TRAIN - Assault Rifle OPERATION lv 2 - 40 minutes TRAIN - Assault Rifle OPERATION lv 3 - 1 hr, 30 minutes
and so on...
I don't want to go too deep into this, but since it's in the same universe as EVE, and EVE requires players to wait for their skills to train, wouldn't it just be equally 'realistic' to go with the same structure of skill building?
Obviously it would take affect while in game AND offline. |

The multiplier is at x4 the normal rate of skill points so it will take a lot longer when the game comes out. Also you still have the passive skill points accumulating under unallocated skill points. Also I noticed like training a x1 skill from 4 to 5 takes 256k skill points instead of the normal 256k in eve so it takes more skill points to gain skills to the next level compared to eve. |

Ahhh I see. So I guess it's balanced out fairly then. :)
I guess it'll be up to players in the end, I wouldn't mind personally mind putting some on to train, then waiting to come home from work to see that they're all ready allowing me to buy some sweet gear! |

I've noticed that you gain a skill point passively every few seconds. Once the game launches, maybe it will be similar to EVE and there will be implants that reduce skill point requirements on certain skills. Also at launch there will probably be TONS more skills and the higher tier skills might also have higher multipliers. IE I believe the titan skill in EVE is like 12x, its crazy. |
