Proto CalAssault: Average of 7 kills and 500 WP per match.
Proto CalLogi: Average of 2 kills and 2000 WP per match.
Adv. AmScout: Average of 10 kills and 1500 WP per match.
So basically I'm more useful to the team when I play as a scout. I use a scanner to know enemy positions and better choose my assassination route. This not only helps me but the team as well. I hack objectives faster than when I play assault, and my ewar is just better. When I hack with assault I know I'll get killed anytime. My second equipment are uplinks that I can drop in key positions faster than I do when playing logi.
I kinda regret pouring all those points in CalLogi when I did respec. While fun to play for a while it kinda gets to more of a chore. I feel like the whole team depends on me and if I fail they'll start losing. With the scout I feel I'm helping the team more indirectly, and I can be more of a lone wolf without really having to rely on anyone. It's better because I just play solo this days.
Idk what happens when I play assault it's just so slow I can't really keep up. I can join the zerg and pray I steal a kill from all the chaos. My long range accuracy is just bad (I don't play with mouse), and I can't keep up with the strafing on this game, even with aim assist. With the scout I just appear (or wait) around a corner and boom kill. It's much easier than the medium-long range dancing nonsense. Plus my radar is always filled with red dots when playing scout, and it's fun as hell getting a kill on a unsuspecting clone.
I'm just writing because I have almost 1 million SP that I wanna spend on the CalScout but I'm not really sure if I should. I could try getting the AmScout to proto, but I feel the CalScout would be better as a true scout: with a large scan range radius and decent scan profile. The only gripe I have with it is that it'll be weaker than the AmScout.
What's your best role personally? Sorry for the long post. |

Using a scanner on a Amarr scout. You're literally a disgrace.

You've picked a bad time to choose Amarr Scout. Don't get me wrong, the suit and bonuses are okay, but you can't take advantage of them with other modules, except for running forever which is meh (but fun with Kincats). Anyways, the reason I say this is because your ideal strength would be adding precision mods and range Amplifiers, but ever since they got mega nerfed, you're better off running something else.
To be honest, anyone with an Amarr Scout should only run precision enhancers on the highs and whatever on their lows anyways. That leaves you with 4 low slots (which are good on a scout). You already have a good armor and stamina pool if you have it at 5,so those modules could be left alone. You're left with Code Breakers, Kinetic Catalyzers, and Profile Dampeners (lol range Amplifiers?).
If you really like it, go for it. It's my friend's favorite scout because he tends to survive encounters more often than not (since he has 300ish armor) and can pick up a few undamped scouts.

It works pretty well for me. Scout gotta scout you know? Can only fit an advance one atm so it only picks up medium and heavy suits. For detecting other scouts I use enhancers. |

I do that and ferroscales on the lows. 1vs1 against another scout gets really funny as they're usually paper thin meanwhile I tank a shotgun hit (460 armor HP lol). |

I run Min Assault and Min Scout as mains (I just got a shaman from vahzz) so i run that to help when i can't in my scout which means im in a squad and hating every minute of it. I know i need to squad but im a lone wolf i work better solo.
Min scout is hard if someone is scanning you but other than that it's not bad. I can hack an objective even quicker with code breakers being lvl 5 and now i have all but scanners and res at advanced so running in quick links isn't a problem with mu kincat quicksuit and hack the objective and be out before anyone could try ( except when there's another min scout) but I usually get there right after and can kill the right as the hack starts and defend if needed.
Min Ass I just shoot at people and drop a link and shoot more and reload...
Min Logi I sit behind people with all they need and watch them kill and try to kill with a basic acbr while there's heavies with freedoms and boundless' and meds with arrs and................. Do I need to go on ?

I think you are focusing too much on kills and wp gain
consider this a logi can go 0/0 with 6-7k wp just from repping an amarr sent that is only useful as a damage sponge, pretty damn useless if they don't do anything to help the team
now on the other side of the spectrum you have slayers and although very viable and helpful many times it does not on its own win battles unless the whole team is also going for kills or you can kill the whole enemy team yourself, but you also have to consider that a single logi can pick up every single person you killed if you don't terminate the clone this in itself makes slayers useless if the other team counters by playing smart or simply killing more
I consider players that defend the point stick to supporting the team passively or actively and try to win good players
I have some respect for players that have gun game or that can logi like pros even if you are a sentinel that camps as long as you camp a spot where you are being productive rather then useless
if you can get kills great, if you can farm wp awesome, but does your team care if you do good or not? well me personally not really as long as you don't die so much that you cost the team clones and you aren't getting in the way and doing what you can to support then that's amazing
I feel that you as a players should be able to benefit from being selfless rather then selfish but I don't think many others share this mindset
a player can go 30/0 but what good is that player if every kill they got was stolen from team mates? you can get 6k+ wp but what good is that to your team if they end up losing anyway? especially if you let everyone else die because all you want is WP
fundamentally I think the reward system needs to be changed to encourage not only winning but playing as a team and supporting each other
a slayer can slay and be effective but they can also slay and be ineffective, a logi can support and be useful as well as useless
vehicle users can also be lumped in here as many of them don't play to win they play simply for kills and many don't even think infantry should be able to hurt them, there are vehicle players that can win games but just the same there are vehicle players that don't do jack squat
finding a balance between solo and team play is something that I think everyone should work on to some degree
that being said you should no matter what try to have fun, when it comes down to it a game is just a game and meant to be mainly for fun usually trough means of competition
oh and I would say to stick to logi it may not seem like the best but if you know what to look for and who to help you can make a dust merc very happy, sents cant carry hives they will likely need ammo, armor of any type can have low regen rates rep everyone up if you can even scouts and assaults not just heavies, pick up players that haven't been terminated and supply them with ammo and reps, scans are always good to keep newbros on track where you need them, and don't be that guy that just stand there repping while you watch someone get killed especially if that person happens to be the one you are repping
and most importantly uplinks, if your team cant spawn where they need to be they cant do what they need to if you dont see anyone taking it upon themselves then do it yourself, the points start to stack up if you are the only one supplying spawns

You should get the gal scout if you want to be a true scout. Cal scout is far behind it in everything IMO (I have the cal scout and I regret it).

Scout is a really fun role, good to see another one keeping that route rather than MinAss SG
I have all 4 Scout suits, Gallente is the best at what a Scout should be (speed/ewar) though Min/Cal do this quite well, Caldari lacks speed but makes up for it with regen and the Amarr is actually pretty fun with Scanner+Uplinks, hunting the enemy, 90% of the time you will get the advantage on them with Passive/Active Scans so I find it's much better than Cloak AM Scout
They are not far off balance between the 4 race suits, so I think you should pick whichever suits your playstyle
With bonus effectiveness, for a Cloaked Scout the order is pretty much GA/CA/MN/AM
