I play Amarr Logi and combined with an SMG I do quite well.
I know it doesn't perform best at all ranges but it's extremely satisfying to see people's shields and armor (to a lesser extent) melt away with zero recoil. My SMG handles anyone that tries to rush me or if I get the jump on someone in close range.
I don't see it being used as often as other weapons though. It's not a bad weapon at all once you know how to use it. It can be quite fearsome actually. |

Yes it is fearsome - in some situations.
That is part of it being - a situational support weapon.
No one runs around using it as a slayer weapon, it's not like that.
No one has to use it as a slayer weapon.
Weapons don't have to be as commonly used, especially if they are different with different purposes!
So all is good.

It's a love/hate relationship this one. I absolutely love killing clones with this thing, it's very satisfying. But I hate all the kill assists I get because the guy survived with a tiny sliver of HP left lol. |

Personally I use it more than the ScR. There are 5 of us in wpsf that you don't want to run into when we have them |

I have an AM Assault suit too but only basic at the moment. I'm focusing on Logi right now but it's on my list of future suits to skill more into. |

I didn't use to use them regularly until I got a Quafe LR, which I only use on my Gal commando fittings so I have the benefit of another light weapon to compliment it -- Because the LR is not good enough to stand on its own as a primary weapon (at least with the relatively low amount of SP I've spent on it) |

Recently discovered the joys of flanking down the side of tight dom maps with a laser rifle :). A proper periphery hero tool if ever there was one.

I love flanking people with the LR. They act like they have no idea what's going on and then they're melted. |

Hmm... Anmol Singh... I've seen u a few times in battle. Instead of wiping the floor with someone, I've seen u wipe the floor with yourself a few times. The results were very shiny.

It's a squad weapon to be used for metaphorically "dulling the spear of the enemy attack"

yes, sometimes I don't do well with it, sometimes you don't have the right kind of game to allow you to get a decent amount of kills with the laser rifle.
I have a video on my channel of me getting over 30 kills with the laser rifle, you don't see people do that very often, even if they're good, the games and maps usually just don't allow for it.

A short time ago, there was mention made of running a cloaked AmScout with a Laser Rifle. I tried it, and it was miserable. I dumped it and ran back to familiar ground. However, I had a few left in my loadouts, so whilst grinding for the 30 wins today, I broke it out again as a throwaway fit.
It was fun.
The above statements of it being situational are achingly true, but at one point I managed to flank a group pinned to a wall trying to breach to an objective, spawning like crazy and gaining inch on inch. I lined up directly perpendicular to their advance, and whenever one of my teammates would run the corner for a go at them, I'd lay in with my Laser Rifle on the biggest ones. I was peeking over a hill, really slightly below them, and I was almost at sniping distance, so it was seemingly impossible for them to ascertain where I was (or rather, that I was). I merrily roasted my way to about 15 assists and 6 kills, and I know they were just howling in frustration.
Eventually, someone came by and ganked me good, but it was an A-I Scout hefting a base LR with a base Hive. I just spawned and ran back to my place, set up again, and was just getting back into my groove when the match ended.
I will do that again. No lie. And I have to apologize for disrespecting the idea before.
There are four main races in DUST514: The Amarr, bla, bla, and bla.
