Why has the Empress not shown herself yet? Is she not a Capsuleer? I think she is waiting for the ones who attacked her to show themselves. My CEO, Nyghthawke, thinks that the Chancellor has taken control of the Royal Clone Chamber and holding the Empress hostage inside the reanimation system. He did say that he hoped she had a secret site in case this happened so that she could return to take back her throne. He said either way the chancellor would not be willing to return his newfound power when she does return. |

Amarrian royalty is forbidden from being cloned. Furthermore, as far as I know she was not actually a capsuleer, and it was her escape pod which was destroyed, not a hydrostatic capsule. That being said, it's commonly stated by players on the forums that she's a capsuleer, but I don't know anywhere in canon that outright says that. (I could very easily have missed something, though)
Even if she was a capsuleer, the no-cloning part makes it a irrelevant point.
Don't know where your CEO gets his theories, but she dead.

I... I cannot believe that the Empress is dead. The report said she was piloting the ship. That means that she is a capsuleer as they are the only ones who can be Pilots. Besides that is a stupid rule for the Imperial family not to be able to have a clone. I bet it was the church who made that rule as all the other nations allow their rulers have clones. The Chancellor must be in on it as he always sat on the right of the priest giving the lessons for the day, while the Empress sat in her vaulted seat above them. The church must have been getting mad she was gaining more people who where loyal to her over the church. Must have been why they passed me over when I went for my pilots license. |

OK, so this is the fiction thread. You don't have to be in-character here.
Just because you are 'piloting' a ship, does not mean you're a capsuleer, although I will concede that nowadays that's heavily implied (like I said, she very well COULD have had capsule implants, but I am unaware of anywhere in official lore that this was stated). The ship could very well have been flown with her just sitting on the bridge with the ships crew.
Capsuleers make up an unbelievably small portion of the population. To become a capsuleer you not only need the financial means (or a sponsor) but also the correct genetic markers, not to mention willpower. Without the right genetics, you risk wetgraving, your nervous system becoming irreversibly locked to the capsule.
The doctrine of sacred flesh has been around for a very long time. Anyone belonging to a royal family is forbidden from cloning. The Amarrians believe that cloning is an affront to God, and costs a person their soul.
In the Amarr empire, the church IS the state. The emperor/empress is as much the ruler of the empire as they are the head of the faith. The only body that is strictly religious that holds nearly the same kind of power is the Theology Council, but even they answer to the empress.
Pomik Haromi was chosen as Court Chamberlain because of his ties to the Sarum family, and loyalty to the empress. It's unlikely he is behind some dastardly plot to seize power...
In no world would the Amarrian empress and Court Chaimberlain sit watch over some kind of 'lessons'. She's the empress, she has an empire to run, an empire consisting of hundreds of solar systems and tens of trillions of people.

Some advice if you want to RP: don't try to make your character famous, royalty, super-important, etc. Nobody will take your RP seriously if you do. Even being spoken to directly by the Empress, even being DIRECTLY in her presence is something that, proportionately, very few people have experienced, especially outside high-nobility like the royal families.
While I subscribe to this general ideal of not making my characters famous, having powerful connections, or being particularly important it is important to remember that all empyrean immortals, us included, are famous/infamous in a manner of speaking. In New Eden baseliners are fascinated by the exploits of our kind and without us even being aware fan communities appear all over Gal-Net in the same way fanclubs form around rock stars or professional athletes.
However the point you have should always stand. Never too greatly exaggerate the importance of your character because it removes a level of realism and accessibility from them.
E.G-
You are not an active high ranking general in the Federal Armed Forces. CONCORD has established that Dusters are independent political entities not beholden to the authorities of the four major empires.
You were not second cousin to the Empress, whom you called 'Jamy', and in charge of 5 hidden worm hole regions only accessibly by true heirs to the Imperial Throne.
Trying to become those things leads to an extreme character, while some extreme characters can be endearing most are not, and other more moderate characters will have difficulty interacting with you in general given that you either excel in every field or are able to 'silver bullet' a scenario through connections or some other work around.
EDIT: As for having met the Empress...... I always discount that particular aspect of other RP characters unless that it is quantified by some very real public appearance in game or in lore.

I am claiming none of this. The character is Fanatically loyal to the Empress as she is the most powerful woman she has heard of. You all know how fanatics have up-teen theories as to why something happened or did it happen at all. in all other aspects she is normal. This is just her little quirk. You know the whole Elvis isn't dead debate all over again. |

A good CEO also sees the crazy of his members and tries to feed them something to help bring them back to a more normal state. The thought that the Empress may still be alive helps her cope with the fact that not everyone can be immortal.
If you want it, I can build it.

Where did you find that little bit, True? I always though the IGS were an immortals-only club, inaccessible by anyone but capsuleers (or mercs), news agencies, and CONCORD.
If that's true, then that really changes the whole nature of the IGS.

Only we can post there but anyone can see it. In some respects I doubt that applies to instances on the IGS where we have deliberatly ****** up or gone out of character. This is not something many people know about.
Oh and that was sourced from the Backstage Inspiracy Forums but again several of members there regularly reference this aspect of character. Mizhara De'thul and Roc Wieler RP themselves as public figures or a sort that make appearances at music concerts/gigs to push their political agenda's.

And here I was going to say the my character was referencing her civilian life, as she is a new Merc. The lessons were daily sermons in which the Empress and the chancellor could have been green screened in to look like they were there. This also explains how Quafe was able to get suits and weapons in their colors. They bought into the system so that when civvies watched the daily battles they could see Quafe advertising in the suit"s colors. It also puts a darker theory on the Empress's death. |
