Okay, if you really are interested, apply online and get on their teamspeak. Talk to Nico if you can.
You will have to take a Basic Infantry Knowledge test and pass a rifle test. I actually love this, as it means that everyone in the Unit has a strong grasp of basic infantry tactics, and are decent shots. BIK is super easy, if you fail it twice you're probably an idiot.
After that, you get a brief 2-week trial period before you're "offically" accepted into the unit.
Rank is mainly there as an indicator of activity. Nobody ever really pulls rank in game, except for squad leaders and platoon leads (The guys actually in charge).
If you play smart and mature, you'll have a blast, I guarantee it.

ever heard someone say that EvE is basically a second job?
might be lame to you but there's some pretty wealthy people that play EvE not only that but it serves as a good way to learn a lot of economics and a good way to practice for those that already know how it works as well as being a great hobby
it seems pretty pathetic that you would say something like that, especially when people pay good money (don't get me wrong but I'm pretty sure you need some type of income to pay monthly) to play EvE, there's more no life try hards on dust then there are on EvE
it might be lame to you but the EvE community at least has more guts and glory then that of the dust community, have you ever seen dust make news headlines? well EvE has, I guess if you think that's lame then fine you just justify my thoughts of the dust community

Put in an app.
Sell everything in MH, head to Saranen and buy some cheap ships from contracts. You can pick up a tackle slasher from corp contracts for just under a mil.
Go on roam, hero tackle and learn.

Yeah a good percentage of the people who play EvE are super successful people and some of them even turn their EvE profits into real cash. It's absolutely astonishing to see the amount of people like that playing the game. There are some people that rely on it for their main source of income. Absolutely astonishing.
First off, I'm sure there are some well off people playing EVE, yet it doesn't take 100k + a year to afford a 14.99 a month fee to play.
And second job, soooo what's the first job? From my own experience with EVE, I honestly don't see how everyone successful at it hold a high paying job. I'm sure some do, but I'm not going to assume a majority do. I've seen people spend 12 plus hours in this game on the daily, how could they possibly hold any other job?
And how is that kind of attitude any different from try hards in dust. You clearly have not been around many in the PC circuit. Yelling and screaming, calling people pathetic fools and threatening to kill everyone one of them. Yeah, more guts and glory. Just typical "video game" rage.
And as far as making real money from in game money, it's my understanding that can't be done without breaking the EULA. This idea no doubt stems from the fact that you can place real money value on items in game due to the plex system.
But as far as taking in game assets and turning them into real cash, that isn't technically legal and is a bannable offense just like every other MMORPG.
I will say though, that EVE is a cut above other games, and does require a certain degree of intelligence to be good at. Even still, it requires more than anything a dedication of time. Because SP, just like dust. |

I don't think we did. I got popped right before we took him down, DPS finished him off before warp. By then the talwars came in.
They pew pewed for a fight while my pod ran back home. IIRC, half the force got popped, the rest docked at a nearby station and then merced the clone to head back home.
GF's are always had in lowsec.
