And also what's with the assumption that every scout wants scanners too be nerf so they can in a way, be super assault lytes? Not every scout wants that, i certainly HATED when we got overbuffed & would never want that to happen again. But thats just me.
It's a mix of issues involved here IMHO.
-Counter-play that isn't convenient
-Is the scanner OP or just popular/high usage rate?
-General nerf-what-I-hate attitude
-Or the flip side get-good-scrubs
-And finally the best saying ever, 'Its fine.'
Personally i think the emotional scars/screaming should be replaced with stats & facts. Then the issues or just perceved issues can be revolved/if necessary if no actual problems are found, THEN nicely told to HTFU. Because then it would be necessary IMHO.
My medical/other issues won't stop my determination

Not sure myself , I myself don't mind the scanner as I use it. Although it can be really annoying being constantly scanned every mil a second and even when you get scanned when your already down .
I do wish they would bring the old point system for it back , where any blue or green killed the person and you revived Intel for it

Scout players were not the problem in that update though, it was FOTM scrubs as usual.. Sax with Armour stacked Ck.0 Scouts // Rafa with about 700ehp on a Gk.0 Scout.. viable with the Cloak damp bonus, most Scout players kept to their fits, but if there is anything certain around here it is that players will abuse anything if given the chance...
PERMA-SCAN.. is an issue..
For a start only 1 suit can scan (Gal) and only one can effectively hide from it (Gal) to me it seems like too much of a forced role and you have to go one way or the other rather than being able to adjust fittings on other suits to counter them..
Rat-mans comments about changing chevrons for different size frames is a good change here, then imo the whole EWAR stats need re-working, from suit Scan/Damp/Range to Active/Vehicle Scanners, adjusting it so an Ak.0 Scout can equal the Gallogi scan ability, and personally I would like EWAR viable on all frames if fitted to do so...
= Perma scan dodging Heavies 
1 piece of equipment per suit is a good fix, so a Gallogi could still perma scan, but only used one focused to do so.. I also like the thoughts of the scan only staying active while you are scanning, rather than scan, gank, scan.. the Gallogi would have to actively scan (who'd have thought it) these changes would patch the problem, but a full re-work much preffered.
Looking to fuel blood, sweat and precious tear production ??

Make them vehicle scan alike.
Solve perma scanning by not limiting scanners but making them share one "use". You can eqiup 2-3 scanners but once you use one all of them go on cooldown.

TBH,it's the omnisoldier BS all over again.
Players want 700eHP and invisibility so they can back attack.
Yet most complaints are centered around being caught 'flanking'.
Assaults have high eHP for frontline combat,and some players want to use them as scouts.
Scouts have low eHP and high eWAR for difficult insertions and assassinations,and some players want to use them as assault light. (they are unwilling to 'gimp' their suit with eWAR mods.)
And they call scanners "no risk".

Yet some players still say "nearly 200k cost isn't enough".
That and the chances that an average joe player would have that kind of free cash lying around are astounding.

To be fair, not many scouts can use any form of ewar short of dampening.
Cal Scouts and Amarr are the only ones, and even then, they don't use range amps, just precision.
Right now, the range amp mod isn't worth the slot its fitted in. They really need to buff it.
Precision mods are in an odd place as well. Scan rings were great, but they put precision mods in a very odd place because of it.
For most scouts, you have 6m short range and 15m normal range scans. You get your precision in only 15m, which isn't really enough to be enormously viable. Cal scouts use them because they have 22m for normal range scans, they can profit off the better scans. Amarr scouts use them so they can find other scouts with their amazing precision.
Other scouts would use them more if they made range amps useful. Since precision is now tied to range, both need to be viable before the return of running mostly ewar mods on scouts.
Until then, I'd rather just run some tank and mobility to survive.

Mee One nailed it here. I use an E-war GK.0 slayer with a tac ar. The best suit i have ever used. shield tanked too. about 800 total hp fast and hard to detect makes picking off flankers breezy.

Scouts can already be scan immune, I'd guess its assaults who want scanners nerfed. |

A lot of players know that if they can't be scanned they catch every player 1v1, in most cases, and kill them easy from a flank if they modding in any way.
Scanners, below proto, are so ineffective it's laughable, but 90% of these players crying haven't looked at any stats at all?!
1 damp mod on assaults, scouts, and logis get's you under all but proto scans.... 1!
If you're a heavy, sentinel or commando, do you really think you should be sneaking up on anyone with that much power? 1 precision mod gets you so much more situational awareness on the battlefield in your direct surrounding.
These players complaining about scanners suffer from kd syndrome. They focused all of their SP on dmg mods, every weapon in the game, and shield and armor. Which is fine, but you better be really good at dog fighting lol!
Ewar is the fight before the fight that they don't understand.... so is equipment apparently since I constantly have to bring it all smh?!
Pause for the cause.... seriously blue dots.... links and ammo bro!
If you're being constantly scanned more often than not it's a gal logi somewhere. If you're dampened some you then only have to worry about proto scans. If you're not working with the team than.... you're an idiot, but you'll also be scanned and die quickly.... repeatedly?!
As bad as some of the blue dots play do you guys really want them to not be able to see scans, or scan you? The game would instantly turn into tank and gank as there would be no early warning system to the high amount of heavies pushing the point?!
You guys don't need every rifle?! Respec, and give your fitting and Ewar some badly needed attention.

Here's the facts:
Scanners give Intel. Better tiered scans do better scans.
There are mechanics to counter play in the form of Precision Dampeners.
When you scan, you are given one of two messages: "No Margin of Error" (which means all things in that area are fully scanned) and "Some Margin of Error" (meaning someone in that scan dodged the scan).
When scanned, you are given one of two messages: "Scan Attempted Prevented" and "You have been scanned".
The Gallente suit gives bonuses the Active Scans.
That's pretty much it. From there, it's a player's observation along with their experience and opinions.
Much of this debate is just that: player's experiences, their observation of their experience, and their opinion based on that.
