Here is my question. If my training for a particular skill promises to enhance or negate a certain percentage of a certain aspect of a certain skill, how do we really tell? Lets say 'Sniper Rifle Proficiency', the training will reduce sway by 5% per level. I want to know, should I assume that there is at present 100% sway on my sniper rifle? Is the sway that I have pre-training actually 100% of what is possible? The more I write this the more idiotic I feel about even pondering but I just wonder. Is ultimately 5% x 5 = ALL SWAY GONE? or is there still 75% sway that will always need to be dealt with on the gameplay side, my hand-to-controller as a fundamental modifier of the equation? Or does the 5% somehow stack onto the prior trained level "I" to make it more than 10% on level "II" over all? The math and the formulas are always something that needs to be explained to me and I never do the math myself I merely play the game. To be sure I notice a little bit of sway reduction with the Sniper Prof. Skill ....I think. Does the Sway in question happen pre-trigger pull or post-trigger pull? Does it apply only when crouching or not? I'm assuming that it is post pull when the scope sways because the scope is downright stationary in a crouch position after ADS on a two second tick pre pull. So in essence, how do I quantify the fact that after having the skill to level "V" should I expect there to be 25% less sway than there was before the skill was trained to level "I"? If the scope traveled, hypothetically, 100 pixels is it now traveling 75 pixels? An absolute interpretation of the math? Gimme some feedback on your opinions/facts on this and other specific skills my fellow TESTERS.

At level 5, it will stop swaying at 75% of the normal time. Basically speeds up the "sway" animation cycle, just like the reload skill slightly speeds up the reload animation. This is from my personal observations, and assuming that DUST uses the same Skill Reasoning as EVE does. |

it would be nice to see a second set of numbers next to the weapon's stats, that shows what your skills do to it. |
