I propose a new mode like ambush in which a player runs solo without a squad and all fittings are basic or militia only. No modules in rank of classification of advanced, proto, or officer. This mode can encompass either ambush style quick matches like ambush or all modes like skirmish, acquisition, or domination.
This will provide players a game mode where they will stop complaining of people that run proto. The reality is we all strive to run proto gear, we run militia to the point where we can operate the best gear possible.
WHO DOES THIS HELP? Well for starters nooberries and the members of non isk laden corps. I personally had three friends that I tried my best to get into this game and two stopped after a month, one after a week because their asses were getting hammered. I would tell many to ride passenger in my tank or ads but one thought it was boring and they all thought if they weren't in a vehicle they'd die too quickly.
I want this game to succeed but the academy does not hold onto noobs long enough and I'm probably one of the few vets that rocks loyalty to advanced suits at tops in pubs. I am guilty of bringing out a proto suit to deal with proto vehicles and rocking my proto logi during big events to get to the finish line.
I find this would be a happy medium to encourage new players and a jaded player base to know that much like in eve their would be something similar to high sec and low sec.

This has been suggested several times, idk why CCP doesn't try this, because with this way new players will actually have a chance to play instead of just quitting after playing the first match after Academy, if needed lower the isk payout for the Militia/Basic Only match type.

or instead of further dividing the player base and screwing with the payouts with who knows what final result they could make the academy actually function as an academy.
We already have the mission system in place. Simply making the academy graduate based on a large set of missions instead of a ridiculous static WP value players could actually learn at their own pace and have a slightly better chance than a snow ball in hell at being competitive once they hit the regular match making.

The suggestion was also to provide a meta level type mode where people could play with no worry of proto stomping besides protect low level players. |
