Or seeing bodies fly around when a remote explosive or plasma canon ends their day?
They can tolerate those things, but not the blood as much.
Don't anyone laugh or attack Xx, please. Because this is not as odd a complaint as we may think. Eve-Dust 514 has gone through a lot of evolving, and because it's a persistent long-lasting game, the player community has had lots of opportunities to question (and successfully make CCP adjust) certain elements that are left neglected in other games:
We had a debate/complaint about the way female mercs "twitch" or "wiggle" in their dropsuits too suggestively when they walk in the living quarters or warbarge lobby. GǪIt was respectfully re-examined by CCP.
We had a brief period in 2013 when getting shot in the head created a wincing, "uhh, argh, a-a-aargh!" sound from your character before she/he died. We still weren't able to confirm it, but it sounded as though the devs had even "matched" the death-sound to the gender of your merc---male merc winced in pain with a man's voice, female uttered her pain with a woman's voice". GǪ the mystery voice was soon removed (if it ever really existed---we players could swear we were hearing it).
That death-voice was accompanied by the blood spurt you see on the monitor one split-second before you die from a headshot. The blood spurt back in 2013 "appeared" pretty vivid and colorful, compared to the color of the blood spurt currently in the game, but the blood spurt is still there, and it's the only real gore we currently have in the game, now that the voice-part was removed.
I don't mind the blood sequence. It's ONLY when you've been struck in the head, and it's very brief.
But I don't mind it being deleted, if it disturbs enough players or audiences. It's not ESSENTIAL to the gameplay for the Victim to be notified that a headshot occured,GǪ.only essential for the Shooter to know she's being rewarded for the headshot.
So, feel free to debate it, and we'll deal with the outcome.
Xx, this is one of the few games where requests for a little decency are sometimes granted.
Not granted as often as many of us would like,GǪ but sometimes.
