But the very fact that it is difficult in DUST to run proto all the time makes it a viable gameplay style. Because, believe me, if everyone could run proto all the time - the game would suck. Choice matters. Because you don't have to run proto all the time. You can try to break even or even profit by running less expensive gear. And you can begin to realize there are ways to fight against proto gear that doesn't demand the same isk investment. The fact that you don't have to run proto all the time to make DUST fun and you can grow isk while staying competitive - that's what makes this game different from all the others. So, yah - we all start this game in the same place. And we all have choices about how to play. And a lot more of those choices are viable (but thankfully not all are) than in most other games. That's DUST

So pulling aout the ocassional LP suit (already specced into lvl V amarr assault, logi, min logi, min scout) for 80 k +155 lp is nothing. Put it another way, i made 3 million isk back last night in profit running proto/ advanced on the ground. Every other night last week i ended the day about 1.5 mil isk negative, because 300K takes 2 matches to earn back a profit. I'm tired of the 10 or more blueberries on both sides in very low level fits, going 1-10 easily, and ccps matchmaker. Rattati doesnt think it happens anymore, so i guess a carthum assault scrambler vs a shield AV suit is working as intended. Honestly though, a plain ol' proto stomp is a breath of fresh air now with the amount of officer weapons I've seen thrown around in pubs since I started playing again (which of course I was gone for what, 2 months and then playing off'n'on for another 2, more than enough time for the no lifers to farm their many alts). It's ridiculous man, something that was supposed to be super rare is getting thrown around like goddamn candy at parade. Doesn't much matter though, it's still the same ol' same ol'. Nice to see the community is still mostly just a bag of dicks.

That's DUST Jesus this guy is right, I'm agreed, btw I like better to use my Apex or ADV suit to fight battles cuz U learn to lead with low/moderate powha so when you really need to use a proto you'll see ur performance difference.

That's DUST Good post, but I feel that CCP is going to need to adjust the risk/reward dials. I feel that the impact of proto is felt due to so many people not participating. If you are the only dude within 100 meters of the objective you are going to die fast. With scans, you are getting shot by 4-16 people with quickness. People tend to dress better during stomps, so you notice the proto when you die in .16 seconds after breaking cover. For me personally, I can sell assets and maintain an absurdly ISK inefficient play style until I stop playing Dust. I used to run APEX most of the time, but it seems ridiculous. The matchmaking puts me on outnumbered and outgunned teams 90% of the time. If I'm supposed to be Rambo I might as well get to run whatever I want without catching ****. Seriously, port it. Hurry
