Lets assume that passive sp was a moving ticker that acted as a curve if you will, an amount that kept going forward from day 1,
Then lets assume everybody made there character at day 1 of dust's official launch ( not beta).
Meaning everyone would would be at the curve, but only those that actively play would be above said curve (active sp).
Now lets assume everybody's sp was adjusted accordingly to fit the above so that (example) if the curve was 20 million passive that would be the starting line then acquired active sp is added to it (20 mil passive GPò 47 mil active)
Yes many vets would would possibly acquire more sp that is free due to not creating the character at day 1, but this would ensure new players had the necessary sp to skill cores,a weapon, and possibly a suit.
This would eliminate the argument from vets that "it's not fair I had to work and grind for where I am at" because they would be receiving the same amount new players are receiving.
And yes this would hurt booster sales but for the first time ever new players *might* have an enjoyable experience without feeling they're getting slaughtered due to sp alone.
And yes I realize the passive sp from day 1 may be much higher (or possibly lower) than 20 mil
I may no longer play but I do plan to return eventually and I want to dust to be thriving and vibrant with noobs that can slaughter vets if they're willing to "git gud"

Depending how CCP go about deleting all our stuff when they pack up and move this suggestion has potential, that beginners gap has to be the most hopeless time for any player, gearing up for tha grind is not in anyway fun..
I would be happier to see a tutorial where as a new player completes stages and advances from an academy setting, they gradually receive SP bonuses (upto 10mil total) so when they do get out, they have some gear ready.. Of course with this we need more tutorials and a better academy.. how about, making it so after passing academy you can still play there as a practice arena at the sacrifice of receiving no ISK/SP or stats .. (having a server full of noobs is not good gameplay) so either this or someway to merge a later Academy (keep the short and derp version) but afterwards a low payout, low MU battle server..

I think that the new SP cap and the ability to triple stack boosters has more than made up for any SP disparity. Any newbie who triple stacks and gets their grind on can have in 1 month what took us 6 months back in the day.

It is definitely a crazy rate of SP gain versus what we got back in the day. I really see Dust as being pay to compete at this point. It is quite interesting seeing how CCP has created a model that seems to weed out those who are unwilling to spend money.
Maybe they want to keep that model of only having cash cows around. It may be a seemingly bad model on the outside but they just keep pulling in money without having to expand server costs or anything so it does not sound like a bad business model to me.

So your satisfied by this tiny ass playerbase?
You need the free loaders to keep the "cash cows" interested. I personaly get tired of facing the same doutchbags over and over.

I did not say I was satisfied with it. It would seem the CCP is very satisfied with it tho.
I want off the PS3 so we can start playing against different players as bad as the next merc but until we stop blindly giving them money allowing them to coast along on the PS3 there is no movement happening.
