so back in the day it was fairly common to join matches that were halfway over and it was a pain however since there was a big outcry against it something was done to supposedly prevent it
but now I have been seeing way too many half finished matches that I am getting placed in and its getting really annoying especially because I always end up on the team that isn't even trying
now a simple fix would be to allow players to choose what matches they could join but only ongoing matches that are missing people rather then forcing everyone that queues up to have to deal with it and have no choice in the matter
I bring this up in GD because I am not sure if it is just me experiencing this so I would like to hear from everyone else to see how common it is as I haven't seen many people complaining about it yet

I love joining a match where the enemy has just began redlining my team, as long as your team respons to you flanking and getting hacks there can always be a comeback and a good fight, bonus pay for grinding these battles would be nice, as it is, you are paid less for being late lol

TBH if i didn't know any better, I'd say that CCP ninja brought back the deploy into matches that have already started to stop people whining about not having full teams.
We only have ourselves to blame for this. But most importantly, let us point our fingers at the people who leave battles. FOR SHAME!

Leave Scotty to set up matches as current, server/battle in progress list would them be reinforcement only. Only way to Q-sync with that is if you're down players and calling on corp mates for reinforcements.

I have been trying to get alternative solutions to matchmaking out there so that perhaps one of them will be accepted enough to be added to solve the underlying issues a reinforcement option to me seems like the best plan of action

well depending on the issue at hand there's only so much that can be done
having an option to reinforce battles makes it so that people can find matches quickly and not have to wait in a queue while those that prefer to start fresh battles can continue to do so
it also helps alleviate not solve uneven and empty matches, while it does not completely get rid of the issue it at least allows for more fluid game play and more competition
some other issues that would not be solved and one can argue that they simply cannot be solved are getting players to try harder and not sit back in the redline or simply give up, finding a better way to rewards players would hopefully alleviate some of this but then again it could maybe in practice be abused and exploited as many things have been in the past one example being PC and isk farming

It'll be super awesome if you can actually set that as an option in the battle finder. Toggle on the "make me work for it" mode and prepare for imminent bad-touch.
I'd say part of that would also require a higher minimum for payout in both SP and isk to prevent idle exploiting. |

you mean back when it was so easy to curve stomp the other team and every match besides 1/100 were drastically one sided with certain players taking advantage of it and going 50+/0 where you couldnt get into a match without it being almost over or already redlined? is that the time frame you refer to? because just so you know back then there was no matchmaking making far easier to stomp especially newer players that suffered more due to this
reverting back is defiantly not the way to go and if you liked the nonexistent matchmaking back then its probably because you like to play easy mode
dust is still fun otherwise it wouldn't keep over 3k+people coming back every day if not every other day or at least on the weekend for those that cant play on weekdays due to work school and other responsibilities

If they did reinforcement deployment, maybe scale the bonus pay based on difficulty. Bonus applied to EOM results.
Freshly started but short only a couple mercs: maybe 5% bonus
50% shield and/or short 3-5 mercs: 10%
Shields critical/down, armour >75%: 25%
Armour 75% or less: 50% (double if you actually win)
Numbers, obviously, open to debate

people already complain about long wait times in queues, I don't think this would help anyone, and if you do want to have some barge time you can simply hop into FW or better yet organize a PC
part of the problem is the lack of high level competition so a lot of PC players squad up with each other and curve stomp everyone else
there needs to be a way to separate the elites and tryhards from the newbros and casuals, matchmaking helps relieve some of these issues but others still persist
I would say adding another option for players to potential get high payouts would be the way to go
reduce isk payouts in pubs to about a max of 200k with a base of about 75k so that veteran players cant grind pubs for isk so easily and have to use cost effective gear if they wan to profit
then add a game mode intended as a higher level pub with increased isk payouts implementing the keep what you kill but only isk wise so that we don't get an influx of officer gear going around
I think that would be a better way to improve match quality and in these higher skill pub match's or special contracts whatever you want to call then there could be increased barge time for organization and what not
along with reinforcement options in the low pay pubs or for both players could receive an extra 100k isk if they manage to win while reinforcing to encourage veteran players to help out teams that are getting stomped
I know this would take some time to build up to but I do think something like this would go a long way to improve match quality and player experience while still encouraging competition but somewhat separating the masses so casual players and hardcore players don't mix too often
and I don't want to hear about dust not having enough players to fill matches because a constant 2k is enough to field plenty of matches and we're usually hovering around 3k people so that should be more then enough especially if people stop leaving every match so we don't have as many matchmaking issues

I actually prefer a flat amount something around 100k would be fair but I say only pay for the reinforcement if they mange to win rather then rewarding them for still losing and it also prevent some players from taking advantage of the system rather then having just anyone join so they can get better isk rewards
I think the main point of reinforcing would be to try to win instead of just going for kills or WP or only playing to get an extra % wing or lose
having a flat bonus means players are more likely to prioritize matches that they think they can win while the more skilled players can choose to play the matches that are more then halfway over to maximize the profit they can gain from reinforcing

In that case, why not have a flat bonus but scale it with the difficulty? Matches that are further in and short more mercs should be worth more.
The % could still work too if only applied to wins.
