Max Singularity as I understand it is actually a pretty cool dude IRL..... however in EVE her represents the ideals of a Null Sec group of players backed by one of the largest and most successful alliances in the game, formerly Cluster **** Coalition, and now known as the Imperium.
He's basically touted as the 'True Emperor' or the Amarr and is the self proclaimed 'Arch-Dioceses' of New Eden who had been taking a stance against the Empress Jamyl Sarum I under the pretence that she was a false Empress and unfit to rule the Amarr because of transgressions of Scriptural Law. This was of course entirely true however In Character (IC) our characters are not supposed to be aware of this, though it might be speculated on.
He is a fervent supporter of the Kador and Tash-Murkon Imperial Houses to my personal disgust and is for the emancipation of all of the currently held slaves within the Empire despite the fact that it would collapse the Imperial Economy and essentially allow trillions of slaves to return to the Republic, collapsing their unprepared social constructs, or remain idle and essentially without the protection of law in the Empire.
After the assassination of the Empress he appears to be somewhat quiet now though has declared his personal support for House Kador in the YC 118 Succession Trials set to take place next year. Despite his opposition of the Empress he publicly supports armed response to Drifter aggression and has with members of his House committed to engaging them. where they have appeared.
Currently his alliance called the Imperium is attempting to burn Providence, a region of Null Sec traditionally held by CVA and Provibloc, who have attempted to extend the Empires domains into Null Sec through a NRDS policy (Not Red Don't Shoot). I'm not sure if this tied into RP some how but Max believe the Empress is alive and has recloned herself in Providence despite the Court Chamberlain's explicit statement that she has been confirmed as dead.
A line pilot from the Imperium basically revealed that their attack on Providence is only to test the new limits of Sov Warfare and certain strategies that they plan to use elsewhere.
