Now why would I want a full proto small blaster and have no one be able to kill people because its a skill weapon,when I can just weld a assault heavy machine gun to the gun mount. It's got better stats and better killing power. Come one ccp I just came up with a way for you guys to have new content without actually making new content. Just cut off the handles and make them on the back for lavs and make the ammo drum slighlty less intrusive and bam,minmitar small turret.

It is sad that a man portable weapon does better dmg than a vehicle mounted one. The Small blaster does pretty crappy dmg at all ranges. Now the Assault HMG got a bit of a buff it's even worse. Right now the only real point in a small blaster turret is for those times when you want the vehicle kill assist missions done since it's the easiest weapon to hit an enemy with and not have to worry about accidentally killing them.

he's right, i went 40-5 last night using the freedom, I never use heavy anymore, well some AV but haven't used HMG for a long time. |

I tried out the AHMG for the first time the other day, seems like it would be a really nice weapon to use once you master it.
You are right though, its a much better weapon than a light vehicle mounted blaster and would serve the purpose much better.

I think I'm getting to grips with how to use it, it's so easy to build up heat and waste bullets, reloading is your worst nightmare, I'll only shoot when they're out in the open and only fire off a certain amounts of rounds at a time, was taking down 4-5 people at a time last night. |

Nice man. I have not used it for more than a few battles myself but I really like how you can be behind cover and spool up the bullets to have a steady stream ready for when you poke out of cover. Its nice as it has a bit of usable range when fully spooled.
Oh and did I mention that it does pretty reasonable damage to vehicles as well

I have thought about making any heavy weapons turret mountable before. This should work by having an empty seat with no weapon mounted. Then another team mate could bring his heavy weapon of choice and enter that seat making it a turret. The draw back would be that the have a mounting and dismounting time.

This is the right idea! +1
I have been hammering the AHMG for a while. The only usable heavy weapon since SCR can eat you up as you ponderously walk around. No one should nerf it though!
I would love to see LAVs with the Forge Guns on the back turret. Those things could hunt tanks if you throw on an officer variant.
