I've only been here about a week and a half, so maybe this has been covered already and I just haven't seen it. If so, sorry for the rehash, anyhow...
How does everyone feel about the speed of respawns right now? Too fast, too slow, about right?
Personally, I find that once the attacking team gets into the final stage of the skirmish, a clear advantage can never quite be felt from one team dominating the other. The spawning seems just a tad bit too quick, and the respawns too close together to ever flush the enemy long enough to get a "clean cap." It seems to me like there is just enough time to hack after clearing the enemy off an objective before they are right back on top of you pushing to take it back, and that pace IMO leads to things being just a bit too hectic for what (if I understand correctly) intends to be a "tactical shooter." The risk/reward (again, especially at the final stage inside the bases when trying to take A,B, and C) seems to favor rush style play, since a string of rushing bunny hoppers coming in one after another can be pretty disruptive. Just adding another 5 seconds or so to the respawn time would, IMO, require players to slow down and think about the attack a bit more and coordinate better with teammates. Heck, if it were up to me, I'd make the respawn 20 seconds, minimum. A string of deaths on one side of the encounter should be a strategic loss that can turn the tides of the battle. |

respawns seem to be alright to me but i think you make a valid point that i think is good idea one thing to think of tho is that most people are used to what a 5 sec respawn it could annoy quite a few players as ive seen quite a few people requesting shorter times, |

I think it should be adjusted during the game depending on what happens, That's always been a really good way to keep people happy. I've been amazingly unlucky with spawn points dying 1 or 2 seconds away from me spawning so waiting too long on that screen can be annoying, but it keeps the defending teams with spawns right next to the targets from having an advantage. |

Perhaps some kind of respawn time bonus/penalty system based on how contested the area around the spawn is? (Spawn faster away from the action; slower right in the thick of things.) |

To add to the topic, I think the respawn times are adequate enough. They're slow enough that clearing a room isn't an exercise in futility and fast enough that you won't fall asleep waiting. I think it's something that can be experimented with a bit though. |
