So here is basically one solution I believe CCP should take to prevent on the rocket launcher over poweredness that's currently going on.
Simply remove the rocket launcher from being a primary weapon, make it a secondary weapon that can be unlocked and added to your loadout. Then make it so that the rocket launcher can only fire when locked on to a target and that it only locks on to turrets, vehicles etc. This would mean its used how it should be and would stop all the rocket spamming crap. I personally hate rocket launchers as weapons and just don't think they should be player vs player weapons in any shooter as they promote noobs to be noobs and generally **** me off :p
Any thoughts on this idea? |

All anti-Vehicle weapons need to be made to have to lock on to a target. The speed of the lock should be based on signature radius, an existing EVE mechanic. Trying to lock onto a person for example would take so long as to not be worth it in most cases but locking on to a tank would take only a few seconds. The person being locked onto should also get an audio tone indicating that they are being locked so they have a chance to take evasive maneuvers. |

People are simply sticking their heads in the ground and refusing to figure out how to defeat it. It really is a very simple weapon to defeat, even for someone with my lack of FPS skill.

It is not an anti-vehicle weapon, it is an anti-material weapon, which means it is meant to be used many things. Your real issue is that I can use it to kill you because I am shooting it at the ground near you. Well guess what, all modern day RPGs and wire guided rockets can and are used the exact same way.

Well, I hate HMGs therefor they should not exist. I hate assault rifles so they should not exist. Learn how it works, learn how to use it and then learn how to fix it. The real fix for Swarm Launchers is really very simple and would make them both more powerful and far more tactical than they are now while stopping people like yourself from using them as noob tubes.

My mistake I was told by the community this was to be a tactical shooter. Clearly you guys think tactical means rocket launcher spamming 24/7 I see now..... If you think the rocket launcher isn't over powered then my god you have no idea about balancing. If a rocket launcher is 1 hit kill then its over powered it ruins the game completely you want it like that? Fine go play a game like COD where you can spam nade launchers for endless kills. But there's nothing skillful about just firing a rocket and killing people with splash damage.
Seriously do you guys know anything about first person shooter games? Because the swarm launcher will be enough to turn this game in to a COD players dreams, they can be even more powerful than they are on COD with the swarm launcher. Its like talking to imbeciles on this forum, no idea what so ever about FPS game balance. |

I know more about balance when it comes to multi-player games than prolly 95% of the people on this forum. I also know and have stated on multiple threads what the real problem is because unlike you, I have chosen to go out there and do what we are supposed to do... You know... Test.
